The invention relates to the field of building materials, and particularly discloses an interface agent and a preparation method thereof. The interface agent is prepared from the following raw materials in parts by weight: polyvinyl acetate emulsion, a polyvinyl alcohol solution, deionized water, an antifoaming agent, diatomite, chitosan, carboxymethyl cellulose, lactic acid, acetic acid and vinylacetate-acrylic emulsion. The method has the advantage that the coagulation time of the mixed interface agent is prolonged at a high temperature; the preparation method comprises the following steps:weighing raw materials, dissolving chitosan in acetic acid, adding carboxymethyl cellulose, lactic acid and part of deionized water, and performing mixing and stirring to obtain a mixed solution; soaking the diatomite in part of deionized water, performing ultrasonic dispersion, and injecting the premixed solution to obtain a mixed solution; and stirring the mixed solution, a polyvinyl acetate emulsion, a polyvinyl alcohol solution, the remaining deionized water, a defoaming agent and a vinyl acetate-acrylic emulsion to obtain a finished product.
