A method for tutoring a user in use of a kit for determining an analyte (such as glucose) in a bodily fluid sample (for example a whole blood sample) includes activating an analytical meter of the kit, with the analytical meter including a display-based tutorial module. In addition, the display-based tutorial module includes a user interface with a visual display, a memory unit storing a tutorial, and a microprocessor unit configured for controlling and coordinating the user interface and the memory unit. Moreover, the tutorial stored in the memory unit has chapters with each of the chapters containing one or more tutorial images depicting use of the kit. In addition, the user interface, microprocessor unit and memory unit are operatively linked and configured for event-driven chapter-based display of the tutorial images to a user on the visual display. The method also includes tutoring the user on use of the kit by displaying the tutorial images in an event-driven chapter-based manner.

A network tap device array capable of being powered by a power-over Ethernet (“POE”) supply is disclosed. The array enables data from multiple nodes in a communications network to be tapped and forwarded to a plurality of monitoring devices. In one embodiment the network tap device array includes a chassis that is configured to receive a plurality of network tap devices that are each powered by a POE supply. Each network tap device includes network ports for receiving and transmitting network data via communication cables and tap ports for forwarding the tapped network data to the monitoring device. In another embodiment, a sub-chassis includes a plurality of network tap devices and an aggregator that aggregates tapped data from each of the tap devices. The aggregator then forwards the aggregated data to the monitoring device. The sub-chassis can be included in a chassis that is configured to receive multiple populated chassis.

A chamber for a surveillance camera that is designed to be mounted inside a larger camera housing. The chamber is sealed and provides a controlled internal environment for sensitive camera optics and internal electronics. A flush mount window is provided for the front lens of the camera, and a sealed feed-through electronic connector is provided for attachment to external controls. Valves for both adding and removing gasses to/from the chamber are provided. In one embodiment, temperature, pressure and/or humidity sensors may be deployed inside the chamber and connected electronically to a display or computer for monitoring and adjustment. This invention is directed to a system and method for providing a status certification for a voicemail message in a telecommunications network. An embodiment of this invention comprises a voicemail system, which provides a caller in a telecommunications network with the option of certifying a voicemail message when the recording of the message is complete. By certifying the voicemail message, the caller is directing the voicemail system to create a temporary voicemail box and to track any actions related to the message that message that occur within the voicemail system. As changes occur, the voicemail system creates one or more status messages in the temporary voicemail box. If the recipient replies to the messages, the voicemail system also stores the reply in the temporary voicemail box. When a caller subsequently accesses the temporary voicemail box, the caller can access the messages and can also reply to any of the messages. The voicemail system stores the caller's reply in the original recipient's voicemail box.

An exterior siding mounting bracket used in conjunction with siding placed over sheathing of an exterior wall has a base member having a base flange fastened to the sheathing. A wall arrangement projects laterally outward from the base flange and away from the sheathing. A trim member of the bracket has a partition arrangement that preferably snap fits to the wall arrangement and a trim flange constructed and arranged to cover cut edges of the siding that cover in-part the base flange. Integrated at least into the trim member is a water diversion device that diverts water away from the base flange and sheathing. Ram seal units for attachment to the rams of blowout preventers incorporate an integral ram seal block having a central web, with a parallel rectangular elastomer support plates extending from opposite sides of the integral ram seal block. In a method of operating a combined cycle system including a gas turbine, a steam turbine and a multi-pressure heat recovery steam generator, an improvement includes supplying gas turbine cooling duty steam from a high pressure section of the steam turbine and from an intermediate pressure evaporator in the multi-pressure heat recovery steam generator, conducting the gas turbine cooling duty steam to the gas turbine for cooling hot gas turbine parts, and then returning the gas turbine cooling duty steam to an intermediate pressure section of the steam turbine. In a start-up procedure, steam is extracted from a first pass of a high pressure superheater in the multi-pressure heat recovery steam generator, mixed with steam discharged from the high pressure superheater and then supplied to the gas turbine cooling duty system. In this same start-up procedure, the gas turbine cooling duty steam is returned to the system condenser, bypassing the intermediate pressure section of the steam turbine. An improved pot and pan washing machine is provided including a low suction intake manifold and a partition for capturing a substantial portion of the wash action of the washing machine within a segregated area. The intake manifold of the instant invention includes a plurality of voids having a void concentration that increases as the distance from the source of suction (such as a pump or intake inlet) increases. The present invention discloses a method and system of loading an in-line muzzle-loading firearm. A projectile is rammed into a muzzle end of a barrel of the in-line muzzle-loading firearm such that a bottom portion of the projectile is adjacent or in close proximity with the breech end of a breech plug. A pre-measured powder cartridge is then inserted within a cartridge receiving bore of the breech plug such that a forward end of the pre-measured powder cartridge is adjacent a bottom portion of the projectile and a rim of the cartridge engages a first annular lip of the breech plug. The cartridge may then be secured within the breech plug by action of a bolt mechanism or a break open receiver mechanism.

A stator of a rotary electric machine having secured core slot insulators includes a multi-phase stator winding, having a plurality of slot segments that are adapted to be radially inserted into a plurality of circumferentially spaced axially-extending core slots in a surface of a cylindrically-shaped stator core. A normalization relative value is calculated for each respective measurement of a biological state of the culture between (i) the respective measurement and (ii) an initial biological state. For each fixed interval of time points, a derivative of the normalization relative values in the interval of time points is calculated, thereby forming a plurality of rate transformation values. For each set of rate transformation values in the plurality of rate transformation values, a measure of central tendency of the values in the set is computed, thereby forming a plurality of average relative transformation values. A determination whether the culture contains the microorganisms is made based on whether any calculated average relative transformation value exceeds a first threshold or whether an extent of growth exhibited by the culture exceeds a second threshold.

A resilient securing system for shoes.
