Method for generating clock corrections for a wide-area or global differential GPS system

A method for generating satellite clock corrections for a WADGPS network computers satellite clock corrections after removing other substantial error components. Errors caused by the ionosphere refraction effects are removed from GPS measurements taken at reference stations using dual-frequency GPS measurements. The multipath noise are removed by smoothing of GPS pseudorange code measurements with carrier-phase measurements. The tropospheric refraction effect can be largely removed by modeling, and if desired, can be improved by the use of small stochastic adjustments included in the computation of the clock correction. After removing the above error factors, satellite clock corrections are computed for individual reference stations, and an average clock correction is formed for each of a plurality of satellites by taking an average or weighted average of the satellite clock corrections over reference stations to which the satellite is visible.

Method and kit for sweat activity measurement

The invention relates to sweat activity measurement, e.g. for determining a physiological state of a subject, embodied by a method as well as a kit with an immittance measuring circuit and electrodes with contact electrolyte. Sweat activity is considered a transport phenomenon and can be defined as a flux, e.g. gram water per skin area per second. Prior art methods determining water absorbed per gram dry stratum corneum measures skin moisture and do not truly reflect sweat activity. A periodic signal with frequency of 60 Hz or lower is applied to reduce contribution from complex admittance of the skin, and skin conductance is measured as a degree of sweat activity. The contact electrolyte allows filling of sweat ducts with sweat from sweat glands, this may be characterized in that it does not substantially fill the sweat ducts when being positioned on the skin and / or in that it has a re-absorption time constant from the sweat ducts into the Epidermis of less than 15 min.

Method of Optimum Controlled Outlet, Impingement Cooling and Sealing of a Heat Shield and a Heat Shield Element

There is described a method for cooling and sealing of a heat shield element, comprising a main wall with an inner side, which is restricted by side walls or rims, and an outer side, which can be exposed to a hot fluid, and wherein a coolant is introduced into an impingement region of that heat shield element and an impingement flow of said coolant is directed on a surface area of that inner side through a plurality of impingement holes, effecting an impingement pressure drop. In the method discharge flow is metered through a number of discharge holes through said side wall or rims from the inner side to the outer side of the main wall, generating a discharge pressure drop in series with the impingement pressure drop. The impingement pressure drop and the discharge pressure drop are matched to one another so that a required coolant flow is generated which yields a required predetermined heat-transfer coefficient of the main wall. Discharging coolant into the gaps between side opposing walls of neighbouring heat shield elements only allows for an effective sealing against hot gas pingestion. Furthermore, the invention relates to a heat shield element, preferably to a single chamber or double chamber metallic heat shield element, which can be exposed to hot gases. In particular the heat shield element is suitable for being used in a combustion chamber of a gas turbine installation.

Universal tandem solid-phases based immunoassay

Universal tandem solid-phases based immunoassay (UTSIA) is a sandwich-ELISA equivalent assay for low abundance antigen determination that overcomes limitations of sandwich-ELISA (antibody inactivation by solid phase and strict requirement of a pair of primary and secondary antibodies) by using an affinity binding solid phase to capture antigen specifically from a fluid sample, sequentially dissociating the antigen, transferring, and coating the antigen to a non-affinity binding solid phase for specific antigen determination. Cell-based UTSIA is a cell-based ELISA equivalent assay that overcomes limitations of image method for determining an antigen in the cells or tissue immobilized on a solid phase by dissociating and transferring the detection antibody bound on the antigen of the cells or tissue immobilized on the solid phase to a second solid phase and immobilizing the detection antibody there for specific detection of the antigen via the detection of the detection antibody.

Electrical connector assembly

The present invention provides an electrical connector assembly and a method of mating the same. The electrical connector assembly includes a panel sub-assembly which mates to at least one electrical connector body. Preferably two cam leveraging devices which rotate in opposing directions are mounted rotatably to the panel sub-assembly for sliding engagement of respective cam studs engaged rigidly to the electrical connector body. Opposing rotations of the cam leveraging devices along respective and parallel rotation axes causes the panel sub-assembly to move linearly along a mating axis disposed orthogonally to the rotation axes and toward the electrical connector body to a staged position. During linear panel sub-assembly movement from the disconnected position to the staged position, the cam studs slide against a first portion of a track carried by respective cam levers and which generally spirals radially inward toward the rotation axis. Reversing rotation of both cam leveraging devices causes the panel sub-assembly to continue linear movement toward the electrical connector body from the staged position and to a mated position. During linear panel sub-assembly movement from the staged position to the mated position, the cam stud lifts off of the first portion, and is caught by and slides along a second portion of the track to a mated end.

Scalable near duplicate image search with geometric constraints

Methods are disclosed for finding images from a large corpus of images that at least partially match a query image. The present method makes use of feature detectors to bundle features into local groups or bundles. These bundled features are repeatable and much more discriminative than an individual SIFT feature. Equally importantly, the bundled features provide a flexible representation that allows simple and robust geometric constraints to be efficiently enforced when querying the index.
