A surgical instrument with articulated jaw structure includes a frame and two jaws. The jaws have proximal portions that are mounted to each other for movement in a substantially parallel relation between a fully open position wherein the jaws are separated for receiving tissue therebetween and an approximated position wherein the jaws are closer together. An earplug (7) for a hearing aid (1), in particular for a BTE-type hearing aid, has a front end (8) and a rear end (9). The front end (8) is adapted to be inserted into an ear canal of a wearer. In a drive apparatus having an integrated structure where a rotating electric machine and an inverter and a voltage converter for driving the rotating electric machine are integrally stored in a case, lubricant oil carried up by the rotation of the motor-generator flows into a storage chamber for a reactor from an opening. The lubricant oil flown from the opening is stored inside the storage chamber with the use of a dividing wall provided between a portion where the motor-generator is stored and the storage chamber, whereby at least part of reactor is immersed in the lubricant oil. An opening and closing mechanism for a cover is openable and closable with respect to a body. The mechanism includes a link structure supported at the body rotatably within a range of a first predetermined angle from a closed state of the cover, and supporting the cover rotatably within a range of a second predetermined angle. The link structure is rotated integrally with the cover when being rotated within the range of the first predetermined range. The cover is solely rotated within the range of the second predetermined angle when the link structure has been rotated by the first predetermined angle from the closed state of the cover.
