Sensor having electrode for determining the rate of flow of a fluid

Sensors that are capable measuring the rate of flow of a fluid that passes over the electrodes of the sensor. In these sensors, an electrode, designated the flow rate-determining electrode, is used in conjunction with the conventional electrodes, e.g., the working electrode, the reference electrode, and the counter electrode, to determine the rate of flow of the fluid. In one aspect, this invention provides a sensor for measuring the concentration of an analyte in a sample of fluid when the sample flows continuously over the electrodes of the sensor, especially when the rate of flow of the sample is relatively low. In another aspect, this invention provides a method for measuring the concentration of an analyte in a sample of fluid, wherein the rate of flow of the sample varies during the period of time that the sensor is in place. In a preferred embodiment, the sensor employs four electrodes, namely, a working electrode, a reference electrode, a counter electrode, and a flow rate-determining electrode. Alternatively, a single electrode that performs both the function of the reference electrode and the function of the counter electrode can replace the reference electrode and the counter electrode. In addition, a dummy electrode or a blank electrode can be used to compensate for interference from electrochemically active species. The reagent(s) specific to the analyte of interest is required to be deposited on the working electrode.

System and method for analyzing signals of rotating machines

A signal analysis system and method for analyzing an input signal acquired from a mechanical system. The mechanical system may include at least one rotating apparatus. The signal analysis system may be configured to: (a) receive samples of the input signal, (b) perform an invertible joint time-frequency transform (e.g. a Gabor transform) on the samples of the input signal to produce a first array of coefficients which depend on time and frequency, (c) select first coefficients from the first array which correspond to a first subset of one or more order components in the input signal, (d) generate a time domain signal from the first coefficients, and (e) present the time domain signal to a user on a presentation device. The signal analysis system generate the time domain signal from the first coefficients by performing an inverse joint time-frequency transform on the first coefficients. The signal analysis system extract the one or more order components for presentation to the user by masking out all coefficients except those corresponding to the one or more components. Conversely, the signal analysis system may suppress the one or more order components, i.e. present to the user the input signal minus the one or more order components by masking out coefficients corresponding to the one or more components and keeping the remaining coefficients.

Apparatus for Displaying Shower or Bath Water Parameters

The present invention is a display apparatus for affixation to a shower or bath water supply piping or incorporated within a shower, or bath or faucet head, in an aesthetically pleasing format and comprised of fabrication materials e.g., a polymeric or metallic bases with chrome, brass white or colored finishes or combination of these finishes and materials of construction. The display apparatus includes a power generation, CPU or microprocessor, temperature sensor and/or water flow sensors, timing circuits and a display means. The present invention can include a remotely located wireless receiver apparatus. Ergonomically placed buttons can be incorporated into the display means to change parameter units (e.g. metric to US), set alarm conditions (e.g. temperature over set point, lime past a set point, flow rate set points). The display means must be able to provide sufficient lighting in shower conditions. In addition, the display means must be able to sustain capability in moist wet conditions. In the embodiment defined by the attached shower display apparatus, know piping joint technology will be used for installation into both new and presently installed shower systems. In the embodiment defined by the display means incorporate into the shower head the shower head/display assembly can also be installed in both new and presently installed shower systems.

Capacitance tomography sensor with powder dielectric coefficient variation measurement electrode

The invention relates to a powder distribution and flow measurement sensor in a powder pipeline, in particular to a capacitance tomography sensor with a powder dielectric coefficient variation measurement electrode. The capacitance tomography sensor comprises a sensor inner frame which is generally a pipeline with circular or rectangular section, powder distribution measurement electrode arrays on the outer wall of the inner frame, powder dielectric coefficient variation measurement electrode sets, an electrode end shielding electrode, an inter-electrode shielding electrode, a signal transmission cable and a shielding cover outside the sensor. When the measured powder flows through the sensor inner frame, the distribution measurement electrode arrays measure the spatial distribution of the powder, and the dielectric coefficient variation measurement electrodes measure the variation degree of the powder dielectric coefficient. The powder dielectric coefficient variation signals provided by the dielectric coefficient variation measurement electrodes can be used for correcting the data of the distribution measurement electrodes so as to reconstruct the spatial distribution of the powder more accurately.
