Illumination of a portion of a vehicle interior is provided by an interior rearview mirror assembly incorporating a solid-state light source comprising a light emitting diode (LED) which emits light generally downwardly from the assembly. In one form of the invention, the mirror case of the rearview mirror assembly includes at least one of an opening, a light conduit, and a fiberoptic element through which the LED emits light. In another form, the LED preferably has a luminous intensity of at least 500 mcd when operated at a forward current of 20 mA. The LED preferably has a dominant wavelength of at least about 530 nm. The light emitted by the LED may be selected from green, orange, yellow, amber, reddish-orange, red and blue. The vehicle interior portion may include at least one of a shift lever console and a floor console.

A system and method for performing Laser Induced Optical Breakdown (LIOB) on a target tissue includes a detector for imaging the interface surface between the target tissue and a base tissue. Also included is a laser unit for generating a laser beam, and for focusing the laser beam to a focal point. A computer is provided for controlling movement of the focal point. Specifically, this control is accomplished to maintain the focal point in the target tissue, but beyond a predetermined distance from the interface surface. For the present invention, the predetermined distance is established by considerations of laser beam geometry, which are applied in the context of images that are created of the interface surface.

The present invention relates to an implant conveying device, comprising a pusher (20), a control component (21), a connecting wire (11) and a control wire (4). The pusher (20), of which one end is connected to the control component (21), is provided with a tube cavity (6) and a lock hole (7) communicated with the tube cavity. At least some of the components may be external to a body, rather than within it, so as to provide greater surface area for filtered water to exit. They also may allow users to view the quantity of debris trapped in the filter without having to dissemble the cleaner. By contrast with many existing external filter bags, moreover, the components need not protrude materially above (or below) the heights of the bodies, hence avoiding creation of hydraulic drag as the cleaners move within pools, spas, or other liquid-containing vessels.

In one embodiment, the invention is directed to a manufacturing process for optical data storage disks that makes use of a check disk very early in the production cycle. The check disk can be replicated directly from the master without destroying the master. The check disk may then be tested in order to validate the pattern created on the master. In some cases, the check disk may be delivered to customers, allowing the customers to verify the check disk. Once the check disk has been verified, the master can be used to create one or more stampers, which can be used in a mass production process for creating optical data storage disks. However, if the check disk is defective or otherwise not acceptable, the production cycle can be halted prior to creating any stampers. In this manner, the invention can be used to avoid creation of defective stampers or other defective mass production tools.
