Methods and apparatus for perfusion of isolated tissue structure

Organs and other tissue structures are isolated and perfused with a therapeutic agent. Isolation is effected by endovascularly positioning catheters having occlusion balloons within the arteries or other blood vessels which supply blood to the organ. Similarly, blood flow from the organ back to the patient's circulatory system is blocked by endovascularly positioning one or more catheters carrying occlusion members within the veins or other blood vessels leading from the organ. The therapeutic agent may then be perfused through the organ in either an antegrade or retrograde fashion using the endovascularly positioned catheters while maintaining isolation.

Storage area network methods and apparatus with virtual SAN recognition

A storage area network (SAN) has one or more host digital data processors are coupled to one or more storage devices (e.g., LUNs) by an interconnect, e.g., a fiber channel-based fabric. Switches or switch-like interfaces on the interconnect fabric define zones or regions in which certain hosts can access certain storage devices, but not other storage devices. Scanners, e.g., operating within agents associated with the hosts, collect information regarding the regions and, more particularly, the hosts, storage devices and interconnect elements that make them up. A manager operating, for example, on a further digital data processor disambiguates information from the regions and discerns the topology of the portion of the SAN spanned by the regions. Thus, it identifies as a virtual SAN elements from regions that have at least one common storage device with at least one other region.

Real identity authentication

A real identity biometric authentication device includes a USB thumb drive form factor, with a biometric sensor and designated device processor and stored instructions in firmware which perform authentication in a secure manner, independent of processing and storage resources on a host platform. The device and authentication process require biometric data and are secured against effects of malware or other security risks presented by applications running on the host platform. During an enrollment process, a unique encrypted enrollment biometric token is created using biometric data and uploaded securely to an authentication server. During an authentication process, the encrypted enrollment biometric token is downloaded to the real identity authentication device firmware and is decrypted on the device. The biometric data obtained from the decrypted data and is compared with live, real-time biometric data obtained from the user, for example, by a real-time fingerprint scan. If the real-time biometric data and the enrolled, decrypted biometric data match, the user is authenticated.

Method and apparatus for color matching of slightly colored translucent objects such as teeth and dental prosthesis, in particular

The invention relates to a method and apparatus for color matching of slightly colored objects which are transparent, diffusing an absorbent, by acuminating a small error of the objects with a first bunch of optical fibers. A second bunch of optical fibers is used to pick up the light back scattered from the area of the objects. The second fibers are located inside of the illuminating fibers. The light is measured at 3 wavelengths that correspond to blue, green and red colors and the pigmentation of the object is calculated as a difference between the red and blue spectrum components. Presentation of the brightness is calculated to be proportional to the green spectrum component. The pigmentation and brightness is then compared with the same perimeters of a standard shape pallet. The invention is particularly suitable for color matching the teeth in the mouth with dental prosthesis and dental restorative materials.
