An electrical connector is provided for operation in a point-to-point application. The connector includes an insulated housing having first and second card interfaces configured to mate with associated first and second circuit cards. An electrical wafer is held in the housing and configured to operate in a point-to-point architecture. The signal traces end at signal contact pads located proximate to first and second edges, respectively. The signal contact pads receive a unidirectional signal. Each of the signal traces include a break section at an intermediate point along a length thereof to form a disconnect in the signal traces. The connector further includes an active compensation component bridging the break section in the signal traces. The active compensation component compensates the differential signal incoming from the input contact pads for signal degradation and transmits a compensated signal outward to the output contact pads. The active compensation component transmits the signal only in a single direction within the point-to-point architecture.

Performance measurements for a network, such as delay, delay variation, and loss, are performed over layer-2. A PM frame is sent from a source MEP (Maintenance End Point) to a destination MEP. The PM frame is timestamped immediately prior to transmission, and the local clock at the destination MEP is noted immediately upon arrival. The present invention relates to a method and device (1) for releasing into the body from a delivery system a medical prosthesis mounted on the delivery system and held by a constraint (16) in a constrained delivery disposition. A method and system or determining a flight path for an aircraft between an initial point and a destination point are described. An airspace is divide into a set of grid cells, and a flight path is established between the initial point and the destination point. A cumulative threat risk value for each of the grid cells is calculated, and an allowable threat risk per grid cell is established based on a rule set. An intermediate point from which to deviate the flight path is identified based upon an analysis of the cumulative threat risk values of the grid cells, if the threat risk value of any of the grid cells intersecting the flight path exceeds the allowable threat risk. A deviation from the intermediate point to a new intermediate point is determined such that the new intermediate point has a cumulative threat risk value lower than or equal to the allowable threat risk per grid cell. The flight path is adjusted between the initial point and the destination point to pass through the new intermediate point, thereby providing a modified flight path.

The present invention provides an antenna for multiple bands employing a single antenna element 10, capable of operating in multiple frequency bands, and ideal for size reduction purposes. One end A of an antenna element 10 is electrically connected to a feeding point 12 and intermediate points B and C and the other end thereof is electrically connected via switches SWb, SWc, and SWd to a ground conductor 14. The electrical lengths of the antenna element 10 from the terminal to the intermediate points B and C plus connection lines from these points via the switches SWb and SWc to the ground conductor 14 and the electrical length from the one end A to the other end D plus a connection line from the other end via the switch SWd to the ground conductor 14 are set to be capable of resonating different desired frequency bands. A system for originating connectivity fault management (CFM) frames on non-CFM aware switches is disclosed. In the disclosed system, an OAM (Operations Administration and Management) proxy networking device connected to a core Ethernet network operates with one or more CPE (Customer Premises Equipment) devices to which it is communicably connected to support CFM out to the CPE devices without requiring that the CPE devices themselves implement CFM functionality. The OAM proxy networking device generates Connectivity Check (CC) frames, Loopback reply frames, and Linktrace reply frames for MEPs (Maintenance End Points) or MIPs (Maintenance Intermediate Points) contained in communication ports on the CPEs. These CFM frames generated by the OAM proxy networking device are then sent within messages from the OAM proxy networking device to the appropriate CPE. When the CPE device receives a message from the OAM proxy networking device containing one of these CFM frames, it checks the operability of a communication port indicated by the message. If the port is operable, the CPE device extracts the CFM frame from the message and originates it through the OAM proxy networking device into the core Ethernet network. The OAM proxy networking device further operates to process Connectivity Check frames received from the core Ethernet network and addressed to the CPE devices by maintaining an MEP connectivity database. As a result, these received Connectivity Check frames are dropped without forwarding to the CPE devices.

A syringe (10) includes a tube (12) defining a chamber (16) with a dispensing opening (18). A plunger (20) is slidably mounted in the tube and is initially positioned at the end (24) of the chamber opposite the dispensing opening. The present invention provides methods and devices for monitoring physiological data such that a health care provider is able to effectively monitor a patient's health status, including, for example, blood flow characteristics, without having to maintain constant visual contact. In one embodiment of the present invention, a physiological data monitoring system measures at least one physiological characteristic wherein the physiological data monitoring system comprises a sensor unit and a monitoring unit in data communication with the sensor unit. The monitoring unit has a sonification module that comprises one programmable sound generator module to produce a plurality of signals indicative of a physiological parameter and a memory module for storing a plurality of control parameters for managing the programmable sound generator module, wherein the plurality of signals produced have a plurality of frequencies modified in accordance with at least one physiological data value. More specifically, the present invention provides a pulse oximetry sonification system that generates fixed frequency singular and/or combined amplitude-adjusted dual audio tones corresponding to predetermined transition and/or intermediate points over a range of SpO₂ measurements.

An anchor anchors a therapeutic device having an elongated body within a body lumen. The anchor includes a fixation member carried on the device which is adjustable from a first configuration that permits placement of the device in the body lumen to a second configuration that anchors the device within the body lumen. An apparatus for use in low frequency vibration energy harvesting (VEH) and with actuators requiring a low deflection force. The apparatus includes a piezo flexure that is loaded with a compressive pre-load force to place the piezo flexure under compression. The piezo flexure may be supported at an intermediate point or at one end thereof. The compressive pre-load force produces flexes the piezo flexure into one or the other of two stable positions, these positions being offset on opposite sides of a longitudinal centerline representing the position of the piezo flexure that would be produced without the compressive pre-load force applied thereto. The compressive pre-load effectively provides a negative spring constant which “softens” the piezo flexure and enhances a responsiveness of the piezo flexure to low frequency vibration energy. The present invention relates to label switch networks and allows for reducing the processing cost and processing time required at each node when various services are performed with respect to traffic engineering in the label switch networks including a multi-protocol label switching (MPLS) network. In a label switch network system a first node that is disposed at the ingress of the label switch network transfers IP packets corresponding to IP flows based on labels, and that selects and sets up layer 2 paths for transferring the IP packets with reference to header or payload information of the IP packets. A plurality of second nodes may be disposed at intermediate points of the network and they set up the layer 2 paths from the ingress to the egress of the network following the specified routes and a third node is disposed at the egress of the network. A policy server instructs the first node to set up the layer 2 paths in compliance with policy control protocols when a user makes a request or a status change in the network arise, and intensively controls the first node, the second nodes and the third node.

The invention provides a method and a device for identifying touch gestures. The method comprises the following steps: orderly acquiring coordinate data of at least four points in a gesture track detected on a resistive touch screen; determining angles rotated by the acquired points relative to the acquired first point and comparing the angles rotated by the various points relative to the first point by utilizing the coordinate data; and determining that the touch gestures are rotary motion or telescopic motion according to an acquired comparison result. Aiming at the defect that the resistivetouch screen cannot detect respective positions of two points when the two points are touched, and can only detect a track formed by an intermediate point between the two points, the method determines the angels rotated by the acquired points relative to the acquired first point and determines a motion trend according to the angles rotated by the various points relative to the first point so as to skillfully identify the two-point touch gestures on the resistive touch screen.

A muscle tension strap including a pair of elongated flat bands each formed of substantially non-resilient material. A walking control apparatus of a robot includes a joint portion provided in each of a plurality of legs of the robot, a pose sensing unit to sense the pose of the robot, a walking state determination unit to determine a walking state from the pose of the robot, a knot point compensation value calculator to determine a Center Of Mass (COM) of the robot from the pose of the robot and to calculate a knot point compensation value, a desired angle trajectory generator to generate a reference knot point of the joint portion corresponding to the walking state, to compensate for the reference knot point using the knot point compensation value so as to generate a desired knot point, and to generate a desired angle trajectory of the joint portion using the desired knot point. The knot point which is the angle command of the joint portion of each of the legs to perform the next step is compensated for based on the COM, and the compensated desired knot point is smoothly connected using the spline curve such that the robot walks similar to a human. In addition, in order to maintain balance while walking, the angle of the joint portion of the intermediate point of the current step is fed back and the knot point of the next step is predicted and adjusted, such that the robot stably and smoothly walks.

A method, apparatus, system, and computer program for analyzing properties of an application-specific end-to-end communication connection are presented. In a connection performance analysis apparatus, measurement data messages are received from a plurality of traffic-monitoring nodes arranged at selected intermediate points in a plurality of network segments of the application-specific end-to-end communication connection and from at least one end node of the end-to-end communication connection, wherein a measurement data message comprises information related to a travel time of at least one data packet of the end-to-end communication connection to the traffic-monitoring node or to the end node transmitting the respective measurement data message. The database client (66), together with the metadata database (68) and database manager (64) provide a variety of different functionalities, namely a deep linking functionality, a segmentation functionality, a metadata annotation functionality, a retrieval functionality, and an access functionality. The user, through database client (68) annotates the multimedia file or segment of multimedia file with metadata which is saved in the database (68). When the user desires to locate a multimedia file, the metadata is searched or browsed to locate the database entry associated with the multimedia file in question. The system further provides the ability for the user to load, open and start the playing of a multimedia file from a point intermediate to its start and end point, and without the user having to experience the portion between the start point and the intermediate point, break down larger files into shorter segments or individual frames (or still images) or regions within frames (or still images) without creating additional copies of the selected segments of the multimedia files of interest, thereby avoiding copyright issues from arising.
