A system and method for navigation based on real-time information of a variable lane is provided. The method comprises: a road side unit (RSU) collecting real-time information of a variable lane, the real-time information indicating one or more of the following: an identifier of the variable lane, a real-time driving direction of the variable lane, a real-time availability of the variable lane, and an expected next driving direction change time of the variable lane; the RSU broadcasts real-time information of the variable lane by using a V2X message; the vehicle receives the V2X message; and the vehicle updates lane-level navigation in a navigation application in real time based on the received V2X message.
