pruning-free picking method. The problems that traditional red pepper picking is low in efficiency, high in labor cost, complex in
pruning and difficult in old tree transformation are solved. According to the technical scheme, when a new tree is cultivated, first-level branches (trunks) are controlled to be 2-2.5 m, tops are removed, three
layers of second-level branches which are evenly distributed in a staggered mode are cultivated, three branches are arranged on each layer, nine branches are evenly distributed by 360 degrees in total, 15-20 sets of third-level branches are cultivated for each second-level
branch, each set comprises A branches and B branches, and the two sides of each set are staggered; during picking, one third-level
branch in each group is removed (with hidden buds reserved), and
pruning is avoided; when old trees are transformed, branches and trunks are
cut, stumps are reserved, and robust sprout tillers are selected to be cultivated according to a new tree method; according to the method, the yield of a
single plant in the full-producing period reaches 27-54 jin, the picking efficiency is improved by 3-5 times, the labor cost is reduced by 50% or above, and the method is suitable for red pepper suitable-to-grow areas at the altitude of 1500-2200 m.
