Spectrally generated stereo x-ray imaging

ActiveEP4673052B1Computerised tomographsSterographic imaging
The present invention relates to X-ray imaging. There is provided an X-ray device (100). The X-ray device (100) comprises an X-ray generator (10) and an X-ray detector (12). The X-ray generator (10) is configured to generate a polychromatic X-ray beam in a frequency range for a subject to be imaged. The polychromatic X-ray beam is configured to have an energy dependent angulation with respect to the X-ray detector (20). The X-ray detector (20) is configured to acquire a plurality of energy-resolved absorption images of the subject, which are usable for generating a stereo-absorption image of the subject. This new imaging modality can be seen as being in-between purely projective imaging and full 3D modality. Thereby, it can be used in an early stage of the diagnostic pathway for clarifying indications without the need for acquiring full 3D images. The X-ray device may relax the requirements on the exact patient positioning for subtle exams (e.g., ankle lateral) since the radiologist can compensate for mis-positionings after the image acquisition

Spectrally generated stereoscopic x-ray imaging

ActiveCN121038702BComputerised tomographsSterographic imaging3d imageRadiology
This invention relates to X-ray imaging. An X-ray apparatus (100) is provided. The X-ray apparatus (100) includes an X-ray generator (10) and an X-ray detector (12). The X-ray generator (10) is configured to generate a multicolor X-ray beam within the frequency range of the object to be imaged. The multicolor X-ray beam is configured to have an energy-dependent angle relative to the X-ray detector (20). The X-ray detector (20) is configured to acquire multiple energy-resolved absorption images of the object, which can be used to generate a stereoscopic absorption image of the object. This novel imaging modality can be considered as an intermediate between pure projection imaging and full 3D modality. Therefore, it can be used in the early stages of the diagnostic process to clarify indications without the need to acquire a full 3D image. The X-ray apparatus can relax the requirement for precise patient positioning for detailed examinations (e.g., lateral ankle) because radiologists can compensate for misalignment after image acquisition.

Visual guidance biopsy system and method for mammography

The invention is entitled "Visually Guided Biopsy System and Method for Mammography." The invention discloses a mammography system that includes a biopsy guidance system that employs a simplified mechanical arm support to enable previously unavailable locations to be used in conjunction with a visual guidance and control system for mounting a biopsy device directly to the mammography system, such as on a compression paddle. The visual system operates to determine the position of the biopsy device and biopsy needle tip, and control movement / operation of the biopsy guidance system, such as to a final end-of-device pose or pre-firing position of the biopsy device to perform a biopsy procedure. The visual system visually determines the position of the biopsy device relative to the region of interest being biopsied within the required tolerances of the biopsy procedure using one or more cameras without requiring precise position information to be provided by the biopsy guidance system to the mammography system.
