Kiosk and Method for Vending Stored Value Cards

A kiosk machine vends stored value cards (i.e., pre-paid and gift cards). The kiosk is self-service and will allow a user to select, purchase and pay for a stored value card without requiring the presence or assistance of a sales clerk. The kiosk can vend one or more cards in a single transaction. The kiosk is a computer-based vending machine having a touch-sensitive video screen and a card reader. The touch screen provides a user interface for a user to receive information and provide input selections. The card reader can be used to read a transaction card (e.g., an American Express card or credit card) to facilitate payment for the stored value card(s) being purchased. The vending method comprises: providing a kiosk having a user interface; receiving, via the user interface, a request to purchase a stored value card, receiving payment for the purchase; determining a card number associated with a selected card; activating the selected card to produce an activated stored value card in the card denomination; and dispensing the activated stored value card. A user purchasing a stored value card can select a type of stored value card, wherein the type is selected from the group consisting of an open card and a closed card. The closed card can be of the type usable only in a shopping center where the kiosk is physically located. The user can further select a card denomination. The method further allows a user to check a card balance for a stored value card.

Packaging component for personal care articles

The present invention provides a discrete package for absorbent personal care articles. Provided by the present invention is a personal care product having a container component and an absorbent personal care product component. The container component has a top panel, a bottom panel, at least one side. Generally there are four side walls, a front side wall, a back side wall, a first side wall and a second side wall. These walls are connected in a manner such that the top panel is connected to the bottom panel by the front side wall, the back side wall, the first side wall and the second side wall; and the front side wall is connected to the back side wall by the first side wall and the second side wall. Each wall of the container has an inside surface and an exterior surface. The inside surface of each of the bottom panel, the front side wall, the back side wall, the first side wall and the second side wall define a chamber for holding at least one absorbent personal care article. The chamber is able to hold at least one absorbent personal care article component placed within said chamber of the container component. In addition, the container component is devoid of any indicia on exterior surface of each of the top panel, the front side wall, the first side wall and the second side wall which tends to indicate that the container has at least one personal care product placed within said chamber. With these walls being devoid of any indicia indicating the contents of the container, the container of the present invention, with its contents of absorbent personal care articles can be left in the open without clearly indicating the contents of the container.

The tea cup (1) of the invention is used with a pocket (2) that includes a sieve (3) for tea material. The tea cup (1) has a functional shape achieved with two bottom sides (6,7) enabling the tea cup (1) to be placed in two different positions. The pocket (2) is designed so that it forms a tea compartment (4), which is attached to the inner wall (5) of the cup (1). The tea compartment (4) is integrally or detachably inserted in the tea compartment (4) at the upper part of the cup (1) on the same side as one of the bottom sides (6). This arrangement enables the tea compartment (4) to be on vertically different levels with respect to a water surface (or a tea surface) (11) in the cup (1) when the tea cup (1) is tilted in said different positions constituting a tea-making position and a drinking position in order to make tea of sufficient strength. The placement of the tea compartment (4) thus enables a functionality with respect to these positions. In the tea-making position, tea material inserted in the tea compartment (4) is in contact with the water in the cup (1), whereas in the drinking position, the tea material is intended to be above the water (or tea) surface (11). In the method of the invention for manufacturing the tea cup the tea cup part and the tea department part separately, whereafter a tea sieve is fastened to the tea compartment, and the tea compartment with the metal sieve is manufactured as a part that can be placed to the inner wall of the tea cup.
