Profile and consent accrual

Consent management between a client and a network server. In response to a request for consent, a central server determines if requested user information is included in a user profile associated with a user and if the user has granted consent to share the requested user information. A user interface is provided to the user via a browser of the client to collect the requested user information that is not included in the user profile and the consent to share the requested user information from the user. After receiving the user information provided by the user via the user interface, the service provided by the network server is allowed access to the received user information, and the central server updates the user profile. Other aspects of the invention are directed to computer-readable media for use with profile and consent accrual.

Failure management for a virtualized computing environment

For failure management for multiple operating systems in a virtual environment, an external virtual machine or agent is provided that has been granted rights to full physical memory space to perform a crashdump for the machine. To avoid exposing secret information during a crashdump, private information for a virtual machine or partition is encrypted prior to generating a dump. The storing of crashdump information for virtual machines may avoid storing crashdump information for virtual machines that are stateless. Instead of having an (unstable) operating system running within a virtual machine perform a crashdump, the provision of an external agent, e.g., an external virtual machine, to perform the crashdump avoids many limitations associated with a normal dump when performed by a crashed operating system.

Memory efficient LDPC decoding methods and apparatus

Methods and apparatus for implementing memory efficient LDPC decodes are described. In accordance with the invention message information is stored in a compressed state for check node processing operations. The state for a check node is fully updated and then subject to an extraction process to generate check node to variable node messages. The signs of messages received from variable nodes may be stored by the check node processor module of the invention for use in message extraction. The check node processor can process messages in variable node order thereby allowing the variable node processor and check node processor to operate on messages in the same order reducing or eliminating the need to buffer and / or reorder messages passed between check nodes and variable nodes. Graph structures which allow check node processing on one graph iteration to proceed before the previous graph iteration has been completed are also described.

The present invention relates to a method of cataloguing a data structure and also preferably a method of searching through such as data structure to detect the presence of search patterns within the data structure. The catalogusing method of the present invention employs the formation of a catalogue data structure which is used to associate data items (transformed from data elements present within the data collection) with storage addresses. This catalogue data structure may be sorted to facilitate searching through same. Such searches may be completed through the formation of a plurality of search quries from a received search pattern sequence where the results of running these search queries may then be subsequently considered in conjunction with a search pattern sequence detection process.
