An electronic flight bag (EFB) is an electronic information management device that helps flight crews perform flight management tasks more easily and efficiently with less paper. It is a general purpose computing platform intended to reduce, or replace, paper-based reference material often found in the pilot's carry-on flight bag, including the aircraft operating manual, flight-crew operating manual, and navigational charts (including moving map for air and ground operations). In addition, the EFB can host purpose-built software applications to automate other functions normally conducted by hand, such as take-off performance calculations.

Pivot mount assembly

A pivot mount assembly for mounting an electronic device (e.g., an Electronic Flight Bag—EFB) in the cockpit of an aircraft, and more specifically on the steering control (i.e., yoke) of the aircraft. The pivot mount assembly preferably includes an upper portion, an intermediate portion and a lower portion, where the upper portion is rotatable with respect to the intermediate portion, and the intermediate portion is slidable with respect to the lower portion. The upper portion includes a receiving slot for receiving a device to be mounted, and the lower portion includes a securing mechanism and a positioning flange. A receiving mount within the yoke receives the positioning flange to position the pivot mount assembly within the same, and the securing mechanism operates in conjunction with the receiving mount to secure the lower portion to the same, and thereby the entire pivot mount assembly within the receiving mount. Once mounted in the receiving mount, the upper portion of the assembly is rotatable with respect to the intermediate portion while the intermediate portion remains in slidable engagement with the lower portion, thereby allowing the EFB to be mounted to be rotated from a portrait to a landscape orientation and also slide in one dimension without removing the same from the mount. In one implementation, an indexing position system is integrated between the intermediate and upper portions of the mount assembly and between the intermediate and lower portions of the mount assembly. The indexing systems provide predetermined rotation increments (between upper and intermediate portions) and predetermined sliding increments (between the intermediate and lower portions).

The invention discloses an aircraft based on Beidou short messages and an emergency navigation communication system. The aircraft comprises a front electronic cabin and a rear passenger cabin. Airborne interface equipment, an inertial measurement unit, a flight management system, an electronic flight bag, a multimode receiver and a communication management unit/air traffic service unit are arranged in the front electronic cabin; the rear passenger cabin comprises a positioning module; the positioning module determines the final position of the aircraft by adopting a positioning mode automatic selection method based on the multi-constellation multi-frequency-point signal; and the flight management system formulates an optimal flight plan according to the first positioning parameter or the second positioning parameter. The positioning module is upgraded, the final position of the aircraft is determined by adopting a positioning mode automatic selection method based on the multi-constellation multi-frequency-point signal, a second positioning parameter for multi-frequency-point accurate positioning is realized, and a scheme for formulating an optimal flight plan and realizing automatic control of a flight task under special conditions is also given.
