An expandable intraluminal catheter is used for removing occlusive material from a body passage. The catheter includes a handle having both a proximal handle end and a distal handle end. Attached to the distal handle end is an elongate tubular body, which includes a proximal body end and a distal body end. The elongate tubular body further includes a lumen between the proximal body end and the distal body end. A number of expandable segments are disposed on the elongate tubular body near the distal body end. These expandable segments can be mechanically activated by a user when the distal body end is within a blood vessel, to thereby isolate and partition occlusive material within the blood vessel. The isolated and partitioned occlusive material within the blood vessel can then be removed.

An apparatus is disclosed for inserting a medical device such as a catheter into a patient. The apparatus comprises a rigid obturator defining a distal obturator end. A flexible sheath has an internal bore terminating at a distal sheath end. The internal bore of the sheath receives the obturator for supporting the sheath to enable insertion of the sheath within the patient. The obturator is advanced relative to the sheath to fracture the distal sheath end. The obturator is removed from the sheath for enabling the medical device to be inserted through the sheath to enter into the patient. The sheath is removed from the patient while the medical device remains within the patient.

The present invention teaches a method and an apparatus for manufacturing a three-dimensional object having a smooth outer surface, without any step of removing a surface layer each time a sintered layer is formed so as to manufacture a three-dimensional object consisting of integrally built-up sintered layers. The invention discloses a gray brick mechanically manufactured from lime sludge and construction wastes and a method for manufacturing the same. The materials for mechanically manufacturing the gray brick comprise the following raw materials in portion by weight: 1,015 to 1,135 portions of construction waste crushed materials, 240 to 290 portions of cement, 810 to 1,010 portions of lime sludge, 60 to 75 portions of gray lime, and 100 to 125 portions of water, wherein the particle size of the construction waste crushed materials is less than 15 millimeters. If necessary, less than 20 portions of fly ash and proper amount of activating agent can be added to the materials. The method for mechanically manufacturing gray brick comprises the following steps: firstly, crushing the construction wastes; secondly, mixing the construction waste crushed materials with the other materials according to the proportions; and thirdly, pressing the mixture by adopting a mechanical method so as to produce the gray brick of the invention. The gray brick and the method for manufacturing the same recycle the sludge and the construction wastes in a reducing, harmless and resource-utilizing mode, and solve the problem that substituting materials and products are hard to find after clay bricks are forbidden to use and the problem of gray brick sources for civilian constructions.
