The method, system and a computer program and a computer product for managing workers and documents is provided. The method includes storing industry representations and a list of workers with data related to the workers, linking the industry representations to the workers and selecting at least one worker from based on the industry representations for that worker. The method also includes scheduling workers to a job based on whether they have all of the required industry representations. In addition, the method includes uploading industry representations and bar code scanning industry representations into the database. The method further includes dispatching said industry representations to other users and automatically mapping fields of the dispatched data in the destination database. In addition, the method includes selectively encrypting only sensitive fields in data transmission between two entities.

A document management system/method allowing coordinated synchronized modifications and secure, scalable, multi-level, and controlled access to Data Content and/or Documents (DCDS) over a computer network between multiple Content Owners and/or Reviewers (CORS) is disclosed. The system/method is configured to allow any number of CORS to share DCDS using a Content Collaboration Platform (CCP) while retaining complete DCDS integrity/retrieval control using a hierarchical Access Rights and Control List (ARCL) to prevent CORS from uncoordinated DCDS modification and prohibiting local maintenance of DCDS copies after the expiration of a CORS Data Access Session (DAS). Upon termination of a CORS DAS, the system synchronizes modifications to the DCDS and coordinates control information among various CORS to ensure proper return of the DCDS back to its original CORS owner and associated CORS storage location.

An intelligent document recognition-based document management system includes modules for image capture, image enhancement, image identification, optical character recognition, data extraction and quality assurance. The processor(s) may synchronize the changes bi-directionally from the workspace with the original document through a collaboration document, such that the original document remains unaltered, and by re-publishing an updated content link to the workspace.

A system and method for electronic file management includes an object-oriented file management database, a volume manager, and a coherency manager. The volume manager manages electronic files and metadata relating to the files of one or more volumes. Each volume may include folders, files, and/or other digital content. The file management system may also automatically manage versions of electronic files. This version management may be based on opening, saving, and changing of files. A user interface facilitates user interaction with the file management system. The user interface may enable a user to view, within the file management system, one or more versions of the electronic files.

The present invention provides techniques, including a system and method, for document collaboration between a managing author using a document management system (DMS), and one or more contributing authors. In one embodiment the managing author selects an original document from the DMS. Next, a replica of the original document is made and securely sent by the managing author to the one or more contributing authors. A contributing author may make proposed changes and comments to the replica. The edited replica with the proposed changes is converted into a response that is sent back to the managing author. The proposed changes for the contributing author are determined using the response and displayed on a graphical user interface (GUI) for viewing by the managing author. The managing author accepts or rejects the proposed changes to the original document from the contributing author.

Embedded watermarks are used to track document history, determine document version information, and enhance overall security. In still another embodiment, an inventory system reads watermarks that have been directly applied to inventory items. Inventory management is greatly enhanced. The system includes a trusted data management server (tdm server), responsive to a user or user program application, for storing data in and retrieving data from a storage system. The tdm server includes a security structure generator to generate the following security management structures: an unique identifier for the data; access control information for the data; a data signature for authenticating the data from the data and the unique identifier; and an access control information signature for authenticating the access control information from the access control information and the unique identifier.

A document security management system for securely managing documents for users. The document management system comprises a document repository providing a facility for storing data files representing the documents. A key repository stores a public key of one or more encryption key pairs, each of the encryption key pairs being associated with one of the documents stored in the document repository. Each document stored in the document repository is encrypted with the public key of the encryption key pair associated with the document. A plurality of client terminals are operable to store and to retrieve the documents from the documentary repository for processing by a user. Each user is in possession of a digital certificate comprising a certificate key pair. The key repository includes the private key of the encryption key pair encrypted with the public key of the certificate key pair associated with the user. The client terminal is operable with the private key of the certificate key pair in possession of a user. The client terminal is operable to decrypt the private key of the encryption key pair using the private key of the certificate key pair of a user, and to retrieve the encrypted document from the document repository and to decrypt the document using the decrypted private key of the encryption key pair. Thus, in accordance with the present invention a two tier arrangement of private key/public key pairs is provided with a first private key/public key pair called the encryption key pair being associated with each of the documents and a second digital certificate private key/public key pair called a certificate key pair being associated with the users. A document management system according to the present invention is therefore provided with an improvement in security with respect to document management and document management security.

Interactive collaboration within a secure, server-based social networking community integrated with a secured document management system includes at least one of a plurality of professional functionalities and a plurality of integrative functionalities to members having a member virtual identity within the community. Members may assemble into a network of members that excludes at least one member of the community. The program prohibits any remote party from modifying any data item in the repository, and from deleting any data item from the repository, while the data item is part of a data item set of another remote party. A first remote party may access data items in a set corresponding to a second remote party, responsively to the second remote party.
