Disclosed is a stringed instrument that includes a plurality of strings and a pickup to which each of the plurality of strings is respectively coupled that is connectable to a computer to implement DSP modeling. A serial interface circuit is coupled to the pickup and to a digital connector that formats each digital string vibration signal received from the pickup into a digital serial protocol. A computer is coupled by a serial link to the digital connector such that the computer receives each serially formatted digital string signal (SFDSS). The computer operates at least one audio DSP-based software module to process each received SFDSS wherein each SFDSS is processed in order to emulate a corresponding string tone of one of a plurality of stringed instruments to create an emulated digital string tone signal (EDSTS). Each EDSTS is then transmitted back over the serial link to the stringed instrument for playback.

An electric stringed instrument, e.g. an electric guitar, featuring a body having a rectangular shaped, through-the-body cutout between the neck and bridge, and having a connector in a portion of the cutout. Pins on the connector are wired to electronic control components that are permanently fixed in the body. A rapidly interchangeable pickup assembly containing one or more pickups, in any combination of single and dual coils, fits into the cutout. Many and varied pickup assemblies, each with different characteristics of tone, strength, and frequency range emphasis can be interchangeably installed into the cutout. A digital guitar processing circuit includes a guitar converter circuit and a guitar formatting circuit. The guitar converter circuit receives one or more analog string signals representative of the string vibrations of a guitar and generates one or more digital string signals based upon the analog string signals. The tester and the method realize the continuous automatic detection and acquisition of deformation; and no eccentricity, concentrated stress and constant stress are realized in the stretching process, so the test accuracy is improved.

The present invention teaches an electro-acoustic guitar having an isolated resonant soundboard with or without an integrated transducer attached to the soundboard. The soundboard/transducer assembly fits into an aperture of the guitar body frame and has structure allowing it to be adjusted in multiple axes to provide the best playing action. The soundboard may also be interchangeable with other soundboards to further alter sound quality. String vibration energy is conducted by an acoustically pure bridge to the soundboard/transducer assembly. In particular, the invention incorporates the use of one or more bipolar magnets in conjunction with high precision differential amplifiers and a power source. The bipolar magnets may be arranged at varying locations on the guitar as long as they are within range to induce an electrical signal in the strings when they are played. The signal is then fed through the amplifier circuitry whereby noise is eliminated and then played through a standard speaker.

A portable electronic stringed instrument is disclosed. The folding instrument includes a neck portion and a body portion and a connection portion for connecting the neck portion to the body portion. A plurality of adjustable neck strings are disposed between a nut and a neck bridge on the neck portion and a plurality of adjustable body strings are disposed between a nut and a body bridge on the body portion. A finger placement sensor array is disposed on the neck portion proximate the frets and the neck strings. A string vibration sensor is disposed on the body portion proximate the body strings. Although the approximate length of the neck portion can be about 8 to about 12 inches, the fret board on the neck portion includes a plurality of frets that are precisely spaced to provide the fret spacing of a standard, 25.6- to 26-inch “scale length” acoustical guitar.

An archery bow string vibration suppressor includes a telescoping arm having a hollow member and an internal slideable elongate shaft. A bumper is affixed to the distal end of the elongate shaft. Furthermore, the vibration suppressor includes a male threaded coupling for affixing the telescoping arm to the rear mounting hole of a bow. In additional embodiments, the vibration suppressor includes an offset adapter bracket for affixing the vibration suppressor to the rear mounting hole of a bow or extension adapter bracket for affixing the vibration suppressor to the front mounting hole of a bow.

The present invention provides a bridge for a stringed instrument with improved structure design which allows the bridge to be made of light-weight acoustically resonant material. The bridge comprises a plurality of adjustable saddles that are always in contact with the adjacent saddles, the internal bottom wall, and/or the end walls of the first chamber of the bridge. The constant contacts enable these plurality of parts to be unified by pressure allowing for excellent transmission of the string vibrations. The compressive load provided by these constant contacts enables the instant bridge to withstand even the heaviest load of strings. In addition, the bridge comprises thin walls facilitating resonance. The bridge may also comprise internal piezoelectric elements. The bridge is able to produce authentic acoustic sounds for an electric guitar without the need for pre-amplification or signal conditioning.

The invention relates to the field of high-voltage transmission and transformation, in particular to a testing system for an insulator string vibration test. The testing system comprises insulator strings, an insulation string suspension device, two anchoring devices, an electromagnetic vibration platform, a split conductor, a force transducer and a measurement and control device, wherein the two anchoring devices are arranged on the horizontal surface through a support and connected through the split conductor, the electromagnetic vibration platform is also arranged between the two anchoring devices, and the electromagnetic vibration platform is connected with the split conductor; the suspension insulator string is connected to the split conductor between the electromagnetic vibration platform and one anchoring device, and the strain insulator string is arranged between the electromagnetic vibration platform and the other anchoring device; and the electromagnetic vibration platform and the force transducer are also connected with the measurement and control device simultaneously. In a coefficient measurement apparatus, a line input terminal receives a pickup signal that is generated based on a string vibration of a musical instrument. A microphone input terminal receives a microphone signal acquired by a microphone that collects sounds of the musical instrument. An adaptive filter estimates a transfer function associated to resonance of the musical instrument and a transfer function of an acoustic space formed from the musical instrument to the microphone, generates an output signal by processing the pickup signal using the estimated transfer function, and updates the transfer function using a difference between the output signal and the microphone signal as a reference signal.
