Fire door control system and method

A fire door control system permits user input during regular use and during alarm conditions. The system utilizes primary and secondary power sources and incorporates a variety of preventive safeguards assuring that functionality of the fire door control system will not be lost. The system utilizes primary power when possible in all alarm conditions. However, during alarm conditions when primary power is lost or when a hand crank hoist remains dangerously engaged, the system is bumplessly connected to a secondary power source and a fire door of the system is closed with the aid of a clutch that directly connects the drive input with an axle that supports the fire door. The clutch pulses on and off to control the descent of the door. The system includes an electronic controller for coordinating the operation of elements of the system and for implementing a method of controlling a fire door system.

The invention provides an on-line detection system and an on-line detection method for pipes or bars ultrasonic phased array. The method comprises the following steps of: arranging a plurality of concave surface phased array energy converter probes on planes which are perpendicular to the center lines of the pipes or bars and at the position which forms a certain included angle with the center lines of the pipes or bars at the peripheries of the pipes or the bars; generating an electronic control sound field focused by the phased arrays by utilizing the concave surface phased array energy converter probes; and switching continuously and quickly by utilizing a high-voltage switch array, a multi-channel phased array transmit-receive system and a control system through a high-voltage switch array circuit, and controlling different array elements of the concave surface phased array energy converter to transmit and receive at different moments, so that phased array focusing acoustic beams rotate in the pipes or bars at high speed to realize dynamic focusing and scanning. By the system and the method, the 360-degree full-coverage scanning of the pipes or bars can be realized under the condition that the concave surface phased array energy converter probes are not moved, longitudinal and traverse defects can be scanned and detected, and the detection speed is improved greatly while the detection accuracy is improved.

Focusable flashlight

A flashlight has a casing having a front end, a light source axially secured in the housing inward of the front end, and a two-part connecting sleeve forward of the light source and having a rear part secured in the housing and a front part. Interengaging formations couple the parts together for only limited axial movement relative to each other, but lock them rotationally and prevent axial separation beyond a predetermined limit. A lens is mounted in the front part. A head sleeve secured to the front part extends axially rearward over the front end of the casing so that relative axial movement of the front and rear parts axially shifts the lens relative to the source.
