A bite-block device for preventing biting of air tubes, such as laryngeal mask airway (LMA) tubes by human teeth is disclosed. The device is composed of a generally cylindrical body, fabricated from a biologically compatible polymer. A hole is present through the long axis of the body. The device also extends in a plane perpendicular to the long axis of the body. Attached to this plane is a coupling device intended for securing an LMA tube to the bite-block. The bite-block is positioned within a patient's mouth against the cheek, with the plane perpendicular to the long axis pressed against the lip. Deployed in this fashion, the bite block engages the molars, bicuspids, and cuspids, preventing contact of the teeth with an LMA tube.

A windscreen wiper device for cleaning a windshield of a vehicle is provided. The windscreen wiper device includes a longitudinally extending wiper strip and at least one carrier element in engagement with the wiper strip for operatively supporting and biasing the wiper strip into a predetermined configuration. A base is non-removably coupled to the at least one carrier element and has an opening that extends therethrough to provide access to the at least one carrier element through the base. A connection device is removably secured directly to the at least one carrier element through the opening of the base for attachment with a wiper arm.

A document and card holder has a semi-rigid backing element. Flexible transparent sheets are mounted on the front and back sides of the backing element. Side and bottom edges of the transparent sheets are attached to the side and bottom edges of the backing element to form pouches for retaining documents and cards. Some of the pouches are formed by transparent sheets mounted over or directly on pouches which are mounted directly on the backing element. The pouches are made of different sizes to accommodate different size documents and cards. Bias cuts are formed in the tops of pouches to facilitate the installation and removal of documents and cards. Aspects according to the invention relate to a locking spacer assembly for a slotted turbine engine component. In one embodiment, aspects of the invention can be used in connection with the assembly and disassembly of a disc hosting a row of airfoils as can be found in the compressor or turbine section of a turbine engine. The spacer according to the invention is a multi-part assembly. In one embodiment, the spacer includes at least three sub-components: first and second end supports and a filler. The inner and outer faces of each of these components can have various features to facilitate engagement of the assembly and distribution of centrifugal loads in operation. These parts can be held together by a retainer, which can be received in a cutout provided in the end supports and the filler.

A medical ultrasound apparatus and associated methods of use is disclosed enabling a relatively non-invasive or minimally invasive method to treat skin or tissue. The apparatus is constructed from an ultrasound tip mechanically coupled to a shaft. The shaft is mechanical coupled to an ultrasound transducer driven by an ultrasound generator. The ultrasound tip possesses at least one radial surface, a cavity, or some other form of a hollowed out area, within at least one of the radial surfaces, and a non-metallic sheath covering portions of the tip so that only the sheath and not the tip would normally contact the patient's skin. The disclosed method of treating spider, reticular or small varicose veins with the apparatus can be practiced by contacting the sheath with the patient's epidermal skin layers and delivering ultrasonic energy released from the various surfaces of the vibrating tip to the skin and/or tissue through direct contact and/or with a coupling fluid focused from a cavity.

A dual fuel connector separately supplies two different fuels to fluidly isolated fuel passages within a fuel injection valve of an internal combustion engine. The dual fuel connector comprises a body with separate fluid connections to the first fuel inlet, the second fuel inlet, a first fuel rail and a second fuel rail. A first fuel passage within the body is in fluid communication with the first fuel rail and the first fuel inlet. A second fuel passage within the body is in fluid communication with the second fuel rail and the second fuel inlet, and wherein the first fuel passage is fluidly isolated from the second fuel passage. The dual fuel connector supplies two different fuels to a fuel injection valve, for engines that are not designed with a cylinder head that has internal bores that can serve as fuel rails.

A passive mattress encasement is disclosed which can be relatively easily installed or removed over a mattress supported by a foundation. The encasement is formed to encapsulate a mattress and includes a top panel, a bottom panel and multiple side panels. One or more of the side panels are zippered together. The unzippered side panels, i.e., the panels without zippers, fixedly connect the top panel to the bottom panel. The top and bottom panels as well as the side panels may be made from conventional materials. The underside of the top panel and optionally the inside of the side panels may be coated with a waterproof coating, such as thermoplastic polyurethane (TPU/PU), silicone, or urethane to form a waterproof membrane. In accordance with an important aspect of the invention, the bottom panel is formed with a slick interior surface and a non-slick exterior surface. The exterior non-slick surface allows a mattress to be rotated without affecting an optional underlying bed skirt while the slick interior surface facilitates rotation of the mattress. The present invention also facilitates easy installation and removal of the encasement over a mattress. Optional straps may be provided, fixedly attached to the encasement. The straps allow the encasement to be snugged against the mattress to enable the encasement to be used with a relatively wide range of mattress sizes and still provide a snug fit.

The invention relates to a canopy assembly for use on a tractor that can be conveniently installed and removed by a single operator. The canopy assembly includes, among other things, a sun shield, a bracket assembly, and attachment arms. A workbench anchor utilizing counter acting wedges configured to expand laterally as they are drawn together longitudinally in order to lock the anchor in a workbench dog hole or other suitably sized hole by tightening a screw that passes through one wedge and into a threaded hole in a second wedge. Another threaded hole in the anchor can receive a screw or bolt for securing work pieces, jigs, fixtures or other structures to the anchor and, thereby, to the bench in which the anchor or anchors are mounted. A tire air pressure valve assembly is described that has an air sealing surface disposed toward or inside the metal wheel of a vehicle, and a protective housing surrounding a portion of the valve. The valve has an external stem with a built in break away feature which prevents external damage to the valve stem from damaging the sealing surface located inside the tire and wheel. The location of the seating/sealing surface inside the wheel, or inside a housing mounted on the wheel, provides protection from collision induced sudden tire pressure loss due to valve damage incurred during collisions or simply being struck by an object in a car wash or on the street.
