The light metering mode selection method comprises the following steps of acquiring a first exposure compensation value, a first white balance compensation value and a first focusing distance, wherein the first exposure compensation value, the first white balance compensation value and the first focusing distance correspond with a first image; determining whether a first light temperature which corresponds with the first white balance value is higher than a preset color temperature; if yes, determining a fact that an ambient brightness which corresponds with the first exposure compensation value is higher than a preset brightness; if yes, setting the light metering mode to an average light metering mode; and otherwise, setting the light metering mode to a central weight average light metering mode; if the first light temperature is not higher than the preset color temperature, determining whether the first focusing distance is larger than a preset focusing distance; if yes, setting the light metering mode to the central weight average light metering mode; and otherwise, setting the light metering mode to a point light metering mode.
