Computer interface having a single window mode of operation

A computer-human interface manages the available space of a computer display in a manner which reduces clutter and confusion caused by multiple open windows. The interface includes a user-selectable mode of operation in which only those windows associated with the currently active task are displayed on the computer monitor. All other windows relating to non-active tasks are minimized by reducing them in size or replacing them with a representative symbol, such as an icon, so that they occupy a minimal amount of space on the monitor's screen. When a user switches from the current task to a new task, by selecting a minimized window, the windows associated with the current task are automatically minimized as the window pertaining to the new task is displayed at its normal size. As a result, the user is only presented with the window that relates to the current task of interest, and clutter provided by non-active tasks is removed.

Narrow mode navigation pane

A narrow mode navigation pane is provided that may be selectively displayed as a replacement of a normal mode or full-size navigation pane to allow more computer display space for displaying other user interface content. The narrow mode navigation pane is divided into sections, and each section may include one or more selectable controls for providing data or functionality previously displayed in and selectable from the normal mode navigation pane. Selection of a “Navigation Pane” control causes the temporary display of a pop-up version of the normal mode navigation pane for allowing a user to view and / or select the full contents of the normal size navigation pane without toggling to the normal mode navigation pane. Other sections of the narrow mode navigation pane may include selectable controls representing a useful subset of controls normally populated in the normal mode pane. Additional sections of the narrow mode navigation pane may provide selectable controls for launching other software applications and associated user interfaces.

Information integration system

A method and implementing computer system are provided for enabling a display of selective context-sensitive input-related field information concerning selected fields within a displayed information input form. In one exemplary embodiment, a field in which a cursor is placed, is enlarged relative to the remainder of the form to facilitate input to the selected field while maintaining an overall view of the remainder of the displayed form. Information is then input into the enlarged window and upon movement of the cursor to a different field, the enlarged view of the previous field is returned to normal size within the displayed form with the information input to the enlarged window being retained in the appropriate field within the form. In another embodiment, context or field-sensitive input format information and other required aspects of input information are selectively displayed in windows which are selectively positioned relative to the current input field. In an exemplary embodiment, a user is enabled to use a selection screen function to pre-determine preferred options with regard to the placement of the field-sensitive format information relative to the current input field.

Method of compensating missing nozzle and printer using the same

InactiveUS20060125850A1Appropriate image qualityOther printing apparatusImaging qualityIncrease size
A method of compensating a missing nozzle of a printer and a printer using the same. The method includes determining adjacent nozzles corresponding to the missing nozzle, and compensating the missing nozzle by generating dots having an increased size through the adjacent nozzles and generating dots having a normal size through other nozzles when the missing nozzle is generated in the nozzles performing a printing operation. Therefore, it is possible to compensate operations of all color nozzles as well as the black nozzle. As a result, the method of compensating the missing nozzle of the printer compensates operations of the missing nozzle when an image having a composite color is printed as well as when the black image is printed. In addition, it is possible to maintain appropriate image quality by compensating the operation of the missing nozzle through other adjacent nozzles even when a portion of the adjacent nozzles is out of order, since the number of the adjacent nozzles is larger.
