A computer-human interface manages the available space of a computer display in a manner which reduces clutter and confusion caused by multiple open windows. The interface includes a user-selectable mode of operation in which only those windows associated with the currently active task are displayed on the computer monitor. All other windows relating to non-active tasks are minimized by reducing them in size or replacing them with a representative symbol, such as an icon, so that they occupy a minimal amount of space on the monitor's screen. When a user switches from the current task to a new task, by selecting a minimized window, the windows associated with the current task are automatically minimized as the window pertaining to the new task is displayed at its normal size. As a result, the user is only presented with the window that relates to the current task of interest, and clutter provided by non-active tasks is removed.

An apparatus that provides for the reproduction of 6.1 surround sound (or other formats of) audio programs using a minimum of two speaker cluster locations is disclosed. The current invention accurately produces surround sound effects with speakers in only two locations in lieu of the conventional six. A sub-woofer, in its normal configuration, can be used with the invention if desired. The left front, rear center, rear left and center signals are produced from a left cluster array. The right front, rear center, rear right and center signals are produced from a right cluster array. This configuration eliminates the need for a center speaker and for rear speakers. Such elimination of speaker locations, along with their associated wiring, produces a less cluttered look, and lends itself to use in listening rooms of smaller size.

The BIN and lottery data blob are entered into the vendor's existing credit or debit card barcode protocol to initiate transfer of the lottery data to a lottery central site via the interchange, wherein a processor within the interchange recognizes the unique lottery BIN and initiates special routing to and further processing of the lottery data at the lottery central site outside of the interchange's debit or credit card data transfer and processing procedures.

More specifically, this invention relates to a wireless key system that can select a particular amateur radio transmitter on a crowded radio bench and direct it to send Morse code messages in a continuous wave (CW) transmission mode without a physical wired connection between the wireless key and said radio transmitter. The wireless keying system is comprised of a Telegraph Instrument Encoding Unit (TIEU) and a Dit / Dah Decoding Unit (DDU). The TIEU electrically encodes the telegraph contact closures and emits an electro-optical signal, mimicking the closures made by the telegraph key. The DDU detects the emitted electro-optical signal and generates electrical signals for keying on and off the amateur radio transmitter chosen. This wireless keying system supports the transfer of Morse code signals from a telegraph hand key, a paddle key, and those generated by a computer.

The handheld electronic device according to a first aspect of the present invention includes a casing having a first surface and an opposing second surface, where the first surface includes a display on which a user interface is displayed to a user of the device, a plurality of input keys on the second surface, a layout of the plurality of input keys displayed on the display, and means for allowing the user to enter commands into the device by pressing at least one of the plurality of input keys, whereby the layout allows the user to select an appropriate input key of the plurality of input keys associated with a particular command without viewing the input key. In a second aspect of the present invention, the handheld electronic device includes a casing having a first surface and an opposing second surface, wherein the first surface includes a display on which a user interface is displayed to a user of the device, a hinge mechanism between the first and second surfaces such that the second surface is allowed to rotate back and forth between a first position to a second position, wherein the first position is when the second surface is opposing the first surface and facing away from the user, and the second position is when the second surface is substantially co-planar with the first surface and facing the user, at least one input mechanism on the second surface, and means for allowing the user to enter commands by activating the at least one input mechanism.

The method has the advantages of high detection accuracy, simple operation process and the like.
