Multiple detectors can be used for enhancing sensitivity and for enabling enhanced ion analysis techniques in the ion trap.

Further, there is provided a method for producing a nonwoven fabric for cylindrical bag filter including the steps of: melt-extruding a thermoplastic polymer through a spinneret; sucking and drawing the extrudate with an air sucker to form a thermoplastic continuous filament; allowing the filament to be subjected to electrification opening and to be piled on a moving collection surface to form a fiber web; and allowing the fiber web to be subjected to pressure welding treatment with a flat roll and partially thermocompression-bonding the fiber web with hot embossing rolls to form a long-fiber nonwoven fabric.

The push rod extends through an inner pumping chamber in the fluid pumping assembly and forms a fluid plunger within this chamber. An outer piston assembly includes a pair of pistons, one each operatively located in a respective one of the engine cylinders, with at least one pull rod connected between the outer pistons. The pull rod extends through an outer pumping chamber in the fluid pumping assembly and forms a fluid plunger within this chamber. Each outer piston cooperates with an integrated scavenge pump in order to compress the charge air, thus significantly increasing the air charge density into the engine cylinders for each stroke of the engine.

Mass spectrometry method and apparatus

A mass spectrometer 10 comprises an ion source 12 which generates nebulized ions which enter an ion cooler 20 via an ion source block 16. Ions within a window of m / z of interest are extracted via a quadrupole mass filter 24 and passed to a linear trap 30. Ions are trapped in a potential well in the linear trap 30 and are bunched at the bottom of the potential well adjacent an exit segment 50. Ions are gated out of the linear trap 30 into an electrostatic ion trap 130 and are detected by a secondary electron multiplier 10. By bunching the ions in the linear trap 30 prior to ejection, and by focussing the ions in time of flight (TOF) upon the entrance of the electrostatic trap 130, the ions arrive at the electrostatic trap 130 as a convolution of short, energetic packets of similar m / z. Such packets are particularly suited to an electrostatic trap because the FWHM of each packet's TOF distribution is less than the period of oscillation of those ions in the electrostatic trap.
