firmware upgrade system, and a

server hardware technology. The electronic device includes a management controller and a hardware partitioning
system. The management controller includes a first processor core and a second processor core. A first
operating system runs on the first processor core, and a second
operating system runs on the second processor core. The
response time of the first
operating system is higher than that of the second operating
system. The hardware partitioning system includes multiple hardware partitions. The first processor core is used to receive a
firmware file to be upgraded and to pass the firmware file to be upgraded to the second processor core. The second processor core is used to write the firmware file to be upgraded to at least one of the multiple hardware partitions for firmware
upgrade. This solves the technical problems of resource redundancy and
low resource utilization in related electronic devices.
