The invention relates to a method for improving pigment light stability of pigment red 57 by grinding and compounding diatomite, and belongs to the technical field of pigments and dyes. The method comprises the following steps: mixing diatomite powder with a macroporous structure with pigment red 57 pigment powder with light stability to be improved, putting the mixture into a mortar, and uniformly grinding under the conditions that the temperature is 18-25 DEG C and the relative humidity is lower than 60%; then putting a proper amount of composite powder into a cosmetic aluminum plate, and compacting until the surface is flat; and finally, carrying out chromaticity detection on the sample by adopting a colorimeter and recording data. A light treatment result shows that the pigment-diatomite composite powder treated by the method can significantly improve the light stability problem of the pigment red 57 when the pigment red 57 is used as a pigment.
