A computer implemented graphical user interface and data processing method is provided that facilitates manipulation of objects on a display by directly manipulating a graphic representation of an active area of data. The user can select an active region of a larger information area, reposition it relative to the information area, resize it and zoom in or out by directly manipulating the graphic representation of the active area.

An apparatus for providing facial support includes a head band, a head strap, a cheek support, a forehead strap and a nose band. The head band wraps around the top of the head and the chin. The cheek support is attached to the head band and provides support for the cheeks. The nose strap and the forehead band hold the apparatus in place on the user's face. The head strap is used to hold the apparatus on the face and to pull the cheek support into engagement with the cheeks. By applying support to the cheeks, sagging of the cheeks can be reduced or prevented.

A radar-based distance measurement apparatus comprises a microwave circuit comprising a frequency generator which produces a microwave frequency signal, the frequency of which is modulated by an amount determined by a modulation signal applied to the frequency generator, a temperature sensor which measures the temperature of at least a part of the microwave circuit, compensating means for processing the output of the temperature sensor to produce a compensated temperature signal using information derived from the drive signal and an echo signal detected by a microwave detector; and a frequency regulating means which is adapted to receive the compensated temperature signal and to regulate the frequency of the signal generated by the frequency generator, thereby at least partially correcting for the effect of changes in temperature of the frequency generator. Because the compensating means modifies the output of the temperature sensor in a closed loop using information derived from an echo signal, the frequency regulating means can regulate the frequency output by the frequency generator—keeping it as close as possible to an ideal constant value—despite changes in its temperature.

Disclosed is a method of producing a two dimensional microarray using a three dimensional or structured microarray. The invention involves forming defined functionalized areas by layering an inert material over the surface structures of the three dimensional microarray. Sufficient of the inert material and of the top of the surface structures are then removed to expose defined areas of the surface structures within the inert material.

The present invention is directed to target assembly for receiving a golf ball comprising a plurality of parallel golf ball receiving elongate channels; each channel having substantially the same width the other channels and each channel comprising a plurality of discrete golf ball receiving zones. That the channels may be adjusted and adapted to provide one or more consolidated target for players to aim for on the golf ball putting practice device. The sub-divisions of each channel and the plurality of channels form a grid structure. By assigning different scores to the different sub-divisions of each channel, one or indeed multiple targets can be formed. These targets can be then altered to prevent ‘muscle memory’ effects from assisting a player to achieve a high score.
