32 results about "Autotransfusion" patented technology

Autotransfusion is a process wherein a person receives their own blood for a transfusion, instead of banked allogenic (separate-donor) blood. There are two main kinds of autotransfusion: Blood can be autologously "pre-donated" (termed so despite "donation" not typically referring to giving to one's self) before a surgery, or alternatively, it can be collected during and after the surgery using an intraoperative blood salvage device (such as a Cell Saver or CATS). The latter form of autotransfusion is utilized in surgeries where there is expected a large volume blood loss – e.g. aneurysm, total joint replacement, and spinal surgeries.

An apparatus for collecting and salvaging blood is disclosed, comprising: a first chamber for collecting blood through an inlet port; a second chamber for receiving blood from the first chamber through a connection channel and a channel valve manually controllable to close the connection channel. Further, the apparatus comprises a control means for simultaneously controlling the channel valve and the internal pressure of the second chamber. Still further, a lipid separator is arranged in the second chamber for separating the blood from lipids before the release through the release port. By the arrangement of the lipid separator in the second chamber, it is possible to provide a very efficient separation and cleaning of the blood, and to allow release of the separated lipids and other buoyant substances from the chamber when the concentration is too high. Consequently, the apparatus could be used during an extended period of time, and could also be used for repeated re-use. The manually controllable channel valve could be made very reliable and efficient. At the same time the control means for simultaneously controlling the channel valve and the internal pressure of the second chamber provides means for very efficient operation of the apparatus. With one single operation, and by use of only one hand, the operator could switch between two operation modes: a first operation mode in which the channel valve is open and the second chamber is subjected to low pressure, preferably vacuum, whereby blood is conveyed from the first chamber to the second chamber through the channel valve; and a second operation mode in which the channel valve is closed and the second chamber is subjected to ambient air pressure, whereby blood is drained from the second chamber while continuing to collect blood in the first chamber.

The autologous blood transfusion equipment comprises a collecting groove, an anticoagulant bag, a blood recovery machine, a weight measuring instrument, a temperature detector, a sterilizer, a recording printer controller, a controller, a displayer, an alarm device and an operating bed. A sieving-leaking groove is formed in one end ofthe surface of the operating bed. Through the collecting groove, blood of a patient is collected and subjected to recovery treatment through the blood recovery machine, and in order to prevent bloodclotting during collection, an anticoagulant is added into the collecting groove. The collected blood is subjected to weight measuring through the weight measuring instrument, and if the weight of theblood meets the demand for recovery, the controller will not send signals to the alarm device, and the alarm device will not give alarms; otherwise, alarm reminding is performed to tell that the collected blood is insufficient and can not meet the demands of the patient. The temperature inside the blood recovery machine and the liquid level of the collected blood can be displayed on the displayerafter being processed by the controlled, medical workers can learn about the conditions of blood recovery through the displayer, and the problem that blood sources are insufficient is solved for thepatient.

New application of REGEND001 cell autotransfusion preparation

A traditional method for treating IPF mainly comprises the step of taking anti-inflammatory drugs and anti-fibrosis drugs, and the anti-inflammatory drugs and the anti-fibrosis drugs are not ideal in curative effect on middle and advanced fibrosis patients. In recent years, new drugs pirfenidone and nintedanib approved in China can only delay the disease progress and cannot improve the lung function or reverse the disease progress. The invention develops a bronchus basal layer cell product, namely a REGEND001 cell autotransfusion preparation. In the early exploratory clinical research, through local administration of an airway, the medicine is transfused to the body of a patient with idiopathic pulmonary fibrosis in an autotransfusion mode, and the medicine has the effects of repairing lung injury and improving the lung ventilation function.
