This invention provides an antibacterial suture based on PDO and its preparation method. The preparation method involves taking
polydioxanone (PDO) sutures, performing barbed or herringbone molding to obtain sutures with barbed or herringbone structures on the surface, followed by freeze-setting and
plasma surface pretreatment. The
plasma-pretreated sutures are then placed in a supercritical reactor with a supercritical CO2-
antibacterial agent fluid system to obtain sutures coated with
antibacterial agent. This invention overcomes the technical bottlenecks of traditional impregnation, spraying, and steam methods in the preparation of antibacterial coatings. By utilizing the high permeability of supercritical fluids and the synergistic effect of freezing, combined with
plasma surface modification and freeze
crystallization processes, the adhesion between the
antibacterial coating and the PDO substrate is significantly improved, preventing
coating peeling during use and extending the antibacterial period. Simultaneously, it achieves uniform coverage of the
antibacterial agent on complex structural surfaces such as barbs and herringbone patterns, as well as deep within grooves, ensuring the consistency and stability of product performance.
