65 results about "Subaudible tone" patented technology

A subaudible tone is a tone that is used to trigger an automated event at a radio station. A subaudible tone is audible; however, it is usually at a low level that is not noticeable to the average listener at normal volumes. It is a form of in-band signaling.

Beverage storage and discharge cap assembly

A beverage storage and discharge cap assembly includes an inner cylindrical housing rotatably nested within an outer cylindrical housing, the outer housing including a cap skirt having threads capable of being rotatably coupled to the neck of a bottle. The housings are hollow such that the inner housing may store a beverage substance therein, the inner housing having a closed top and the outer housing having a bottom wall for sealing the beverage substance within the cap assembly. A rotation of the inner housing causes a free edge thereof to rupture the bottom wall, thus releasing the stored beverage substance into the bottle whereby to interact with a beverage substance in the bottle. The housings include cooperating nubs that produce an audible sound or “pop” substantially simultaneous with rupture of the seal.

Systems, methods and articles to provide content in networked environment

Content delivery system may include a metadata tunnel system component which is responsive to defined subaudible tones in programming, for instance programming provided for a broadcast. An action may be based on a characteristic or aspect of the subaudible tone, for instance frequency and / or duration. The metadata tunnel system may selectively generate or provide modified or new metadata to downstream components (e.g., injector system, encoder). The metadata tunnel system may provide metadata that causes a content provider identifier that identifies a content provider to appear in an alternative feed of programming (e.g., streaming programming) at points downstream of a broadcaster, for instance at end user media players. The metadata tunnel system may provide metadata that inhibits an injector system from injecting (e.g., inserting, substituting) new content into the alternative feed of programming created from portions of broadcast programming.

Batting swing trainer and method

InactiveUS6949036B2Comfortable surfaceIncrease the resistance experienced by the userClubsRacket sportsEngineeringMechanical engineering
A device and method for teaching a person to swing a baseball bat. The device comprises an elongated shaft having a circular cross-section with a grip handle on one end and a head on to other end. A stop is located where the shaft and handle meet and a slide is mounted on the shaft for movement along the shaft between the head and the stop. A user may place one hand on the handle and the other hand on the slide with the slide at a location spaced from the handle. During swinging, the user moves the slide along the shaft toward and into contact with the stop. Alternatively, a user may grip and swing the trainer as if it were a conventional bat, thereby causing the slide to move from a position adjacent the handle along the shaft until it strikes the head and causes an audible sound.

Field layer speaker for consumer products

A technique and apparatus for integrating a speaker with button (or keyboard) components such as a tactile membrane and / or PCB. The tactile membrane conventionally used between buttons and switch mechanisms to provide tactile feedback to a user upon depression of the button is extended to form a vibrating portion of a speaker. The vibrating portion is doped with or otherwise includes an activating material (e.g., copper) which will be physically affected by a magnetic field. The activating material may be adhered to the upper and / or lower side of the vibrating portion, or doped therein. A coil for the speaker is formed with a coil tracing pattern formed on one or more layers of a PCB. One or more amplifier circuits may be included to drive one or more coil patterns, to cause a fluctuating magnetic field in the direction perpendicular to the vibrating portion of the tactile membrane. The vibrating portion of the tactile membrane responds to the fluctuations in the magnetic field, causing audible sounds to be output.

A vehicle presence notification apparatus generates a notice sound by emitting an ultrasonic wave in mid air based on an ultrasonic signal modulated according to an audible sound. During proceeding in mid air, the modulated ultrasonic wave is self-demodulating to become an audible sound. The audible sound posterior to the self-demodulation has a significant directionality like the ultrasonic wave. The notice sound is thus conveyed mainly to a pedestrian who is present in a dangerous area range where a danger needs to be taught. In addition, the vehicle presence notification apparatus includes a sensor-use ultrasonic transducer device having a transducers. The transducer device serves as a vehicle velocity sensor by transmitting an ultrasonic wave towards a road surface based on an ultrasonic wave signal or modulated ultrasonic wave, thereby enabling the vehicle presence notification apparatus to acquire vehicle velocity information by itself.

Delivery System for Metered Dose Inhalers

InactiveUS20160256641A1Simple and efficient and easy to useEffective inspiratory flow reed signalMedical devicesMedical atomisersInhalationSurgery
A device for delivering medications with hydroflouroalkane propellant driven metered-dose inhalers (MDIs). The device includes a collapsible bag to which is attached a bidirectional mouthpiece and an adaptor that receives the MDI. The mouthpiece contains a reed that functions as an audible signal and a screen to prevent inhalation of unwanted particles. When the MDI is triggered it discharges the medication into the collapsible bag which is then inhaled by the user through the mouthpiece. This collapses the bag. The reed emits an audible sound if the user inhales above a predetermined flow rate to maximize medication delivery and ensure dose-to-dose consistency.

Method and system for communicating information to a caller on a telephone network by superimposing an audible information message over a dial tone

A method for communicating information to a caller on a telephone network is herein proposed. The method includes the steps of (a) generating a signal suitable for producing an audible dial tone, (b) transmitting the signal to the receiver of a telephone set, when the caller initially takes the receiver off-hook, to thereby produce the audible dial tone, and (c) superimposing an audible information message over the audible dial tone while the audible dial tone is produced. The audible information message may, for example, be a branding-type message that identifies a provider of local telephone service to a caller. The audible information message may be superimposed over the audible dial tone in a whisper-like or low-decibel manner to avoid interfering with modems that operate on a “wait for dial tone” (WFDT) basis.
