The present invention relates to a salvage system for a life jacket capable of enabling quick rescue of a victim by quickly finding a victim wearing the life jacket using an artificial satellite and displaying an electronic map provided with the position of the victim and the image of the victim on a screen in real time, when a marine accident or an aircraft accident occurs, and more specifically, to the life jacket, with a marine position tracking terminal attached thereto, which transmits and receives radio signals to and from a GPS satellite and a relay satellite to track the position of the victim, and allowing greater buoyancy to be generated in the head and the chest regions on the surface of the water, when wearing it. A salvage system for a life jacket according to the present invention comprises: a life jacket; a marine position tracking terminal, attached to the life jacket, which transmits a rescue signal and an inherent ID stored in a microcomputer to a plurality of GPS satellites via a rescue signal transmitter; a relay satellite receiving the signal from the marine position tracking terminal and the GPS satellites to calculate a coordinate position of a victim wearing the life jacket and provide it to an integrated geographic information system (GIS), and monitor the image of the victim using the calculated coordinate position; and a central control center receiving information on an electronic map provided with the coordinate position of the victim and the monitored image of the victim from the relay satellite and displaying them on a status screen in real time, thereby enabling follow-up measures for early rescue of the victim.

Portable long-distance s.o.s. signaling device

A portable distress light signal device generates a visual S.O.S. distress signal indication visible from a significant distance away. Indicia including the letters “SOS” are disposed on either side of the device. A first set of light emitting diodes (LEDs) are disposed on both sides of the unit, each positioned within the interior of the region defined by each letter of the “SOS” indicia. A second set of LEDs, preferably of substantial power and luminosity, is likewise disposed on both sides of the unit, within the interior of the “O” portion of the “SOS” indicia. A power cord and power plug couples the unit to a source of electrical power, such as the cigarette lighter socket or 12-Volt accessory socket of an automobile or other vehicle. Powerful permanent magnets are preferably disposed about at least the bottom and right side edges of the housing, permitting the driver of an automobile to rapidly secure the unit to a ferromagnetic surface of the vehicle, such as the driver-side door or roof, in both cases with the SOS indicia oriented in horizontal orientation for easy recognition by passersby. Hazard warning stripes are disposed about the front and back sides of the housing for further enhanced visibility. Upon the application of power to the unit, an internal microcontroller repeatedly switches power to both the first and second sets of LEDs on and off causing them to pulse in a repeated sequence that corresponds to the S.O.S. signal in international Morse code.

System for Signalling and Locating Vehicles Involved in Accidents, Stopped Vehicles and Vehicles with Mechanical Problems

InactiveUS20090261964A1Fast and effective signallingFast and effective and locationPortable emergency signal deviceNavigation instrumentsTime conditionThird generation
The invention relates to a system for signalling and locating vehicles involved in accidents, stopped vehicles and vehicles with mechanical problems in daytime and night-time conditions as well as in adverse weather conditions. According to the invention, the occupants of the vehicle can raise the alarm without leaving the vehicle such as to avoid any physical risk. The invention comprises a case and a hinged cover housing an air container. One end of the air container is connected to a gaseous fluid outlet pipe and to a manual quick-opening non-return valve which is located in the mouth of an empty aerostatic inflatable fluorescent body. The aforementioned body is folded inside the case when not in use and is deployed in the event of a vehicle impact by means of a device comprising an inertia sensor which is activated by a deceleration force exceeding 3G and which is powered by a power source comprising batteries or accumulators belonging to the electric circuit of the vehicle or independent batteries. Said source is solidly connected to an electrically-conductive cable terminating in a connector which is associated with a light flashing apparatus comprising an electronic flash unit, a light sensor which operates at night and a satellite-based mini-localizer comprising a global positioning system (GPS).
