Apparatus for supplying raw material

In single crystal growth by means of a CZ method, a granular / lump polycrystalline raw material is additionally supplied into a raw material melt in a crucible through a vertical charging tube. A raw material accumulating section is provided at a site part way downward in the vertical charging tube working in such a way that a predetermined amount of the polycrystalline raw material is accumulated in the raw material accumulating section and the polycrystalline raw material in excess of the predetermined amount falls down. The polycrystalline raw material falling down in the vertical charging tube strikes against the accumulated raw material in the raw material accumulating section, thereby absorbing a shock of the falling raw material. The accumulated raw material works simultaneously as a protective member, thereby preventing breakage of the tube accompanying absorption of the shock from occurring. It is therefore possible to prevent melt splashing that is problematical when a lump raw material for recharge is charged using a vertical charging tube.

A cam follower assembly has an outer race and an inner race located therein. Rollers are located between the outer and inner races to enable the two races to rotate relative to one another. The surfaces of the inner race are lapped and subsequently treated using a cold plastic deformation process. This process is a dry mechanical process that involves applying a high energy flow of abrasive material in a carrier medium to the metal surfaces of the inner race. The present invention is not limited to treatment of the surfaces of the inner race, however, as the surfaces of the outer race as well as the surfaces of the rollers may be similarly treated.

Fluid monitoring device

This invention relates to a device to monitor the administration of a fluid through a conduit, such as intravenous fluid, and detect the completion of fluid delivery by monitoring the fluid level inside a chamber. The device will monitor, through an optical fluid sensor comprising a radiation source, two sensors, a logic means, and an indicating means, the bottom half of any “user supplied” drip chamber that is normally full during the administration of fluids. When the fluid level in the chamber drops below a predetermined level, the indicating means will initiate an electromechanical device that releases a pinching device to occlude the conduit. The pinching device is a rotary pincher that derives its force from a torsion spring and is held in the open position by the electromechanical device.

Spiral and concentric movement designed for cmp location specific polish (LSP)

A method is provided to minimize travel distance and time between correction locations on a substrate when polishing a local area of a substrate, such as a semiconductor wafer, using a location specific polishing module. A correction profile is determined and a recipe based on the correction profile is used to polish a substrate. A polishing pad assembly traverses between a first correction location and a second correction location using the combined motion of a substrate support chuck and a support arm coupled at a first end thereof to the polishing pad assembly. The chuck rotates about a center axis thereof. The positioning arm may sweep about a vertical axis disposed through a second end of the support arm. The combined motion of the chuck and the positioning arm causes the polishing pad assembly to form a spiral shaped polishing path on the substrate.

Method for Modifying Bitumen

A method for modifying bitumen with waste rubber powder, including a first step of mixing rubber powder with an aromatic oil in proportions of 98-60% and 2-40% respectively, and a second step of mixing the rubber powder from the first step with bitumen in proportions of 3-30% and 97-70% respectively, at a temperature of 140-200° C. and for a time of 5-40 minutes. The method is advantageous mainly in that the bitumen can be modified in a shorter time than with known methods, and in that the specifications of the modified bitumen can be controlled in such a way that it becomes commercially useful, thereby contributing to the solution of the environmental problem of too many tyres.

Gas check with system for improved loading and retention in bore of muzzleloading firearms

A muzzle loading bullet gas check has external recess and ridge system, and / or an internal locking ridge system. The preferred gas check has an opening or recess on its front end for receiving and frictionally engaging a rearwardly extending post of the bullet, the opening also preferably including an internal radial ridge for gripping the post and / or locking with an indent on the post. The barrel-interacting part of the gas check has one or more external recesses and adjacent radial ridges / edges protruding relative to the recesses, which serves to reduce the total surface area of the gas check contacting the bore. The recesses do not touch the bore of the firearm, resulting in less friction and easier loading, while the outer ends / surfaces of the ridges / edges do touch the bore to retain the bullet in the bore during handling and hunting and to effectively capture gasses after the firing explosion.

Convertible Table and Method of Use

A system and method for a table that is convertible between a first configuration and a second configuration. The convertible table generally includes a base and a top comprising a plurality of panels. The panels interact to form the top of the table in both configurations. In the first configuration, the panels are combined to produce a lesser surface area than the panel configuration once expanded. This may be accomplished by any number of combination techniques such as by variations of stacking, staggered, or in any other manner that generally provides for a top with less surface area than the top of the second configuration. In the second configuration, at least two of the panels may be positioned adjacent to each other to form a substantially uniform surface. The surface area of the expanded top is generally larger than the surface area of the top in the first configuration.

Cyclic redundancy check generation via distributed time multiplexed linear feedback shift registers

Cyclic redundancy check (CRC) values are efficiently calculated using an improved linear feedback shift register (LFSR) circuit. CRC value generation is separated into two sub-calculations, which are then combined to form a final CRC value. A programmable XOR engine performs logic functions via a table lookup rather than via a random logic circuit. LCRC and ECRC calculations are performed using a single shared LFSR circuit. Multiple links share the same CRC value generator. One advantage of the present invention is that CRC values are generated using smaller and fewer LFSR circuits relative to conventional circuit designs. As a result, a CRC value generator utilizing the disclosed techniques consumes less surface area of an integrated circuit and consumes less power, resulting in cooler operation.

Fabric Tube Propulsion Drive

InactiveUS20170143192A1Moderate longitudinal rigidityEffective tractionSurgeryEndoscopesBody organsMotor drive
Fabric Tube Propulsion Drive is a system for propelling medical devices through hollow body organs and within body cavities without causing trauma to the body surfaces upon which it operates. Fabric Tube Propulsion Drive consists of a hollow tube surrounded by a continuous loop of elastic fabric or mesh. Within the tube is a motor drive system that moves the fabric through the lumen of the tube such that the fabric on the outside of the tube can continuously interface with the body part through which the Fabric Tube Propulsion Drive is operating, and thereby drive the whole device through the body cavity or over the surface in question. Furthermore, the motor drive system can selectively apply tension to the fabric over specific areas within the tube to cause flexion of the whole tube.
