A Method of Determining Optimal Printing Density

The invention discloses a method for determining optimal printing density. A control strip is added to a printed sheet, cyan, solferino, yellow and black on-site color lumps of ink regions on the control strip are detected in a scanning mode, spectral reflectance values of the color lumps are obtained, main density values and three stimulation values of each color lump are calculated, and a relation function between the main density value and the three stimulation values of each color is obtained through fitting; by means of the function relations between the three stimulation values and the main density value of the cyan color, the solferino color, the yellow color and the black color, the three stimulation values and chromatic values of each color are calculated circularly with the initial main density being 0.60 and the interval being 0.01 till the main density is 2.00, then color differences between the chromatic values and standard chromatic values are calculated, and when the chromatic value is minimum, the main density value is determined to be the optimal density value. The method solves the problems that in the prior art, a special printed sheet needs to be printed when the optimal ink amount is determined, and a lot of manual measurement and calculation are needed.
