Combined clamshell and mannequin form packaging assembly

A retail display packaging assembly which combines a transparent plastic clamshell and a mannequin face (or other mannequin body parts) to provide an advantageous display for selected products. In a preferred embodiment disclosed herein, the product comprises a snorkeling set having a snorkel tube and a swimmer's mask. The mannequin face is positioned within the clamshell for retaining the swimmer's mask over the eyes and nose of the mannequin in much the same manner as an actual swimmer would wear the mask. In addition, the snorkel tube is positioned relative to the mannequin face in much the same manner as it would be positioned adjacent a swimmer's face. The clamshell is vacuum formed from a clear sheet of PVC plastic and the bottom portion of the clamshell is configured to provide upper and lower parts that are congruent to the mannequin face and have a gap for receiving the strap of the swimmer's mask. The mannequin face is secured to the congruent parts by respective tabs and recesses and thus secures the mask which encircles the mannequin face. The mannequin face is preferably vacuum formed from an opaque PVC plastic and thus provides a highly visible face-shaped structure "wearing" the mask and snorkel within a transparent packaging container.

Apparatus and methods for dispensing fluid

Apparatus for dispensing a flowable substance, e.g., a fluid, has a housing with an indicating chamber, an outlet and two fluid paths from a container, one of the fluid paths to the indicating chamber and the other fluid path to the outlet. The indicating chamber may have indicia identifying, in real time, an amount of fluid that has flowed through the outlet. A shroud-cap may close the outlet and obscure the indicating chamber. Each fluid path includes a respective metered inlet. All the metered inlets are substantially identical in size and shape. Some disclosed shapes reduce surface tension for more accurate readings. A snorkel tube may extend into a container to supply makeup air into the container as fluid is dispensed. An indicating spout for flexible containers is vented to only the exterior of the flexible container.

Collection of secondary electrons through the objective lens of a scanning electron microscope

A high resolution scanning electron microscope collects secondary Auger electrons through its objective lens to sensitively determine the chemical make-up with extremely fine positional resolution. The system uses a magnetic high resolution objective lens, such as a snorkel lens or a dual pole magnetic lens which provides an outstanding primary electron beam performance. The Auger electrons are deflected from the path of the primary beam by a transfer spherical capacitor. The primary beam is shielded, by a tube or plates, as it traverses the spherical capacitor to prevent aberration of the primary beam and the external wall of the shield maintains a potential gradient related to that of the spherical capacitor to reduce aberration of the primary electron beam. The coaxial configuration of the primary electron beam and the collected secondary electron beam allows the Auger image to coincide with the SEM view.

Air cleaner device in vehicle

An air cleaner device for a vehicle is provided with an air cleaner body containing an air cleaner element and a snorkel connected to the air cleaner body to introduce the outside air into the air cleaner body. The snorkel extends forward of the vehicle past a side of a cylinder portion which projects upward from an engine, and a front end of the snorkel opens between right and left seats of the vehicle. With this configuration, even if the air cleaner body of the air cleaner device should be flooded, it is difficult for water to enter into the interior. Further, it is difficult for the air cleaner body to be influenced by heat, and difficult for dust to get into the air cleaner body.

Snorkel intake dirt inertial separator for internal combustion engine

ActiveUS9234484B2Practical and efficient and cost-effectiveDispersed particle separationMachines/enginesCycloneExternal combustion engine
An integrated snorkel intake inertial separator is provided to remove dust and dirt contaminants from the engine intake system prior to reaching the air cleaner. The snorkel initiates a cyclonic motion at the snorkel inlet that propagates downstream in a downpipe towards the air cleaner. The cyclonic motion is initiated by radial stators mounted in one embodiment in the snorkel inlet cap or, alternatively, further down the throat of the downpipe. The contaminants in the intake flow are transported radially outwards by the cyclonic motion and are then expelled via a series of extraction ducts formed in the snorkel downpipe. The extraction vents are perpendicular to the cyclonic flow allowing dirt, dust and water particles to be extracted by means of cyclonic motion and gravity. The exit slots are located in regions of low pressure generated by the external aerodynamic airflow around the snorkel.

Variable Refrigerant Package

A variable refrigerant package air conditioner is shown that is easy to install in new construction with a unique base that causes collected mixture that overflows to drain outside the building. A control system is shown that has motors and compressor that are pulse width modulated so the air conditioner is infinitely variable while maintaining the highest possible power factor. Dehumidification of outside air occurs as it is mixed with inside air. By gradually approaching a temperature set point and even reheating after dehumidification, moisture is removed from the room. A snorkel that delivers fresh air to be mixed with inside entering air in front of the evaporator for a maximum dehumidification is also shown.
