Filtering face mask that has a resilient seal surface in its exhalation valve

A filtering face mask 10 that has a mask body and a new exhalation valve 14. The mask body is adapted to fit at least over the nose and mouth of a person to help define an interior gas space when the mask is worn. The exhalation valve 14 permits fluid communication between the interior gas space and an exterior gas space. The exhalation valve 14 has a valve seat 20 and a flap 22. The valve seat 20 includes a resilient seal surface 24 and an orifice 30 through which exhaled air may pass to leave the interior gas space. The flap 22 is mounted to the valve seat 20 such that the flap 22 makes contact with the resilient seal surface 24 when the valve is in its closed position and such that the flap 22 can move away from the seal surface 24 in response to an exhalation to allow exhaled air to pass through the orifice 30 to ultimately enter the exterior gas space. A filtering face mask that utilizes an exhalation valve that has a resilient seal surface can enable the valve to open under substantially less pressure, which, in turn, may improve wearer comfort.

Expiratory valve

The present invention discloses an expiratory valve, including a step motor, a valve core, a membrane, a first mandril, a base plate and a first elastic part. The valve core is provided with an air inlet, an air outlet and a valve opening. The first mandril is supported on the base plate by elasticity of the first elastic part. The step motor drives a straight-line motion of the base plate by an actuating mechanism. The membrane is elastic, the edge of which is fixed at the valve core, and the parts of the membrane is placed at a motion curve of the first mandril. The valve opening is placed at the motion curve of the membrane, which makes the membrane adjust an opening angle of the valve opening according to an exhalation status. Because the step motor is adopted as driving force, the responding speed is fast; because an elastic force of the elastic part is used as retention of the membrane which seals the valve opening, the opening angle of the valve opening can be dynamically adjusted; because the expiratory valve can adopt the common actuating mechanism, the cost is low, and the expiratory is easy to be realized.

Method and device for holistic protection and virus transmission suppression

COVID-19 is a large virus with remarkable resilience, propagation and multiplication features that require complex technologic systems and manners to assure a reasonable protection. A transparent, multiuse face mask with valves and for inhalation of air from a specialized filter placed in a cleaner air space, and an exhalation valve that drives the exhaled air via a tube to a filter bladder placed on wrist and from there to a tube that has the release end near ground, or can be connected to the aspiration tube of the infrastructure, that removes it, preventing recirculation. The general convention that defines the usage method is that the building, buss, and any other enclosure provide clean antiseptic air above and consumer s have to release their exhalations down near floor from where the structure to remove them by a controlled air flow similar to clean rooms. The main condition is that people to place their exhalation exhaust sterilized and placed near ground in order to increase the probability to inhale clean sterile air at the head level. No filter is perfect, and no sterilization unit, therefore the enclosure has to deal with exhaust gas, and remove into the atmosphere safely. The work to keep people inside safe is done by both the enclosure that may provide vacuum lines to collect the exhaled air, and by the people who will use correctly the infrastructure. The system is designed for smart communities for everybody to wear for about 3 weeks when a covid-19 or other virus infection occurs to suppress its multiplication rate, without perturbation in their activity and then returning to normality.
