Direct compression metformin hydrochloride tablets

Metformin Hydrochloride (herein referred to as metformin HCl) that may be 98.5%-100% pure is a high dose drug capable of being directly compressed with specific excipients into tablets having desired, hardness, disintegrating ability, and acceptable dissolution characteristics. Metformin HCl is not inherently compressible and thus presents formulation problems. Excipients used in the formulation enhance the flow and compaction properties of the drug and tableting mix. Optimal flow contributes to uniform die fill and weight control. The binder used ensures sufficient cohesive properties that allow metformin HCl to be compressed using the direct compression method. The tablets produced provide an acceptable in-vitro dissolution profile.

Multi-component synthetic closure and method of manufacture

In the present invention, a manufacturing process is provided in which a complete multi-component synthetic closure is achieved which incorporates printed indicia formed thereon, in a continuous, in-line manufacturing operation. In the preferred embodiment of the present invention, the core member of the synthetic closure is formed by a continuous extrusion process which enables the core to be manufactured as an elongated, continuous length of material. As the continuous elongated length of extruded material forming the central core is advanced from the extruder towards an outer skin forming station, the central core passes through a printing station for forming any desired indicia on the outer surface of the central core prior to the application of the outer skin layer.

Annulus protective liquid of annulus mechanical seat sealed oil-gas well and applications thereof

The invention relates to an annulus protective liquid of annulus mechanical seat sealed oil-gas well and applications thereof. The protective liquid is composed of the following components in percentage by weight: 10 to 14% of emulsifier, 0.1 to 0.5% of foaming agent, 0.1 to 0.3% of foam stabilizer, 25 to 28% of oil phase, 0.5 to 1.0% of corrosion inhibitor, and the balance being water. The emulsifier, foaming agent, foam stabilizer and corrosion inhibitor are mixed, then water and oil phase are added to prepare stable emulsion; then gas with a stable chemical property is introduced into the emulsion to form stable foamed emulsion; and the stable foamed emulsion is injected into an oil sleeve annulus and is automatically separated into layers of gas, oil, and water under the effects of the temperature and pressure in the cylindrical well and the surface tensions of different components. The provided annulus protective liquid can protect the oil sleeve annulus, has a good corrosion inhibiting speed, does not generate an upward force on the wellhead, and can prevent the aging of the packer. Furthermore, the cost of annulus protective liquid is reduced.

Transferring data from a primary data replication appliance in a primary data facility to a secondary data replication appliance in a secondary data facility

Methods and apparatus are provided for copying data from a primary storage facility to a secondary storage facility which reduce the workload on the storage controller in the primary facility and minimize bandwidth usage. The primary storage facility includes a primary data replication appliance which transfers data to a secondary replication appliance. Updated data from a host is both stored through a storage controller in the primary facility and also received by the primary replication appliance. Logic in the primary replication appliance determines whether the immediately previous version of the data is in a buffer from a previous storage operation. If so, the current (updated) version of the data is compared with the previous version and the difference, such as calculated through a bit-wise exclusive-OR operation, is transferred to the secondary replication appliance. The process is reversed in the secondary replication appliance and the recreated updated version of the data stored in the secondary facility.
