Hydrogen and elemental carbon production from natural gas and other hydrocarbons

Diatomic hydrogen and unsaturated hydrocarbons are produced as reactor gases in a fast quench reactor. During the fast quench, the unsaturated hydrocarbons are further decomposed by reheating the reactor gases. More diatomic hydrogen is produced, along with elemental carbon. Other gas may be added at different stages in the process to form a desired end product and prevent back reactions. The product is a substantially clean-burning hydrogen fuel that leaves no greenhouse gas emissions, and elemental carbon that may be used in powder form as a commodity for several processes.

A putter head includes an aperture through which two rails extending across a bottom of the putter head can be viewed. After establishing a target line, the player first levels the rails flat on the putting surface. Then, the player looks down on the putter head and adjusts his position and aligns the putter head in such a manner that a groove on top of the putter is seen as situated / centered between the rails. A slot running parallel to the putting face of the putter head also is used to ensure that the putter head is in proper alignment. Also, the rails are substantially flat to impart additional horizontal stability and alignment to the putter head during putting.

Charged particle trapping in near-surface potential wells

A Time-Of-Flight mass spectrometer is configured with a pulsing region and electronic controls that generate a potential well for ions in the pulsing region, due to the repelling effect of a high-frequency electric field that is created in the space immediately proximate to a surface, and an additional static electric field that accelerates ions toward the surface. Ions can be constrained and accumulated over time in the potential well prior to acceleration into the Time-Of-Flight tube for mass analysis. Ions can also be directed to collide with the surface with high energy to cause Surface Induced Dissociation (SID) fragmentation, or with low energy to effect collisional cooling, hence, better spatial focusing, prior to mass analysis. The apparatus and method described in the invention result in refined control of ion fragmentation energy and improved Time-Of-Flight mass analysis performance.

Low momentum loss fluid manifold system

The present invention is a two-phase liquid cooling system that cools a plurality of electronic components connected in parallel. A pump delivers a cooling fluid, as a liquid, to a supply manifold wherein it splits into distinct branch lines. Preferably, the branch lines feed coolant to individual spray modules. The liquid coolant removes heat from the components to be cooled. The resulting liquid and vapor mixture exit the spray modules via a plurality of return branches. Each individual return branch feeds into a return manifold at an acute angle. The angular transitions between the return branches and the return manifold provides low manifold losses and a more efficient system.

Explosive reactive armor with momentum transfer mechanism

Disclosed is an explosive reactive armor with a momentum transfer mechanism by developing a new protection mechanism in which a momentum transfer mechanism by detonation of a reactive material is integrated with a thickness increase mechanism. In this explosive reactive armor with the momentum transfer mechanism, a flying element always travels with a vertical angle or a slant angle with respect to an ongoing direction of the threat such that a momentum of the flying element is transferred to the threat effectively. As a result of this, shear force is induced over an entire length of the threat and thus the threat can be destroyed. Therefore, a protection effect can always be achieved regardless of an impact angle of the threat. Also, a protection capability can be achieved even in case of a vertical impact which is the most vulnerable case for the existing explosive reactive armor.
