Retread, also known as "recap", or a "remold" is a re-manufacturing process for tires that replace the tread on worn tires. Retreading is applied to casings of spent tires that have been inspected and repaired. It preserves about 90% of the material in spent tires and the material cost is about 20% compared to manufacturing a new one.
In the present invention, a server calculates, for each tire, a remaining durability amount of the tires from the use history of the tires. If identification information of a tire is received, the server determines retread specifications for the case when the tire represented by the identification information is set as a tire casing, the determination made by using the remaining durability amount of the tire represented by the identification information. The server then outputs the determined retread specifications.
In the present invention, a server: calculates the remaining durability amounts of tires mounted on a vehicle, by using identification information for identifying the tires and tire information in which the temperatures and the internal pressures of the tires are associated with each other; selects a retread candidate tire from among the tires mounted on the vehicle, by using the calculated remaining durability amounts of the tires; and outputs specific information indicating the selected retread candidate tire.
A method and system for preparing a precured tread includes providing a strip of precured tread having a tread surface and an underside surface opposite the tread surface; and applying a preformed composite sheet to the underside surface of the precured tread. The preformed composite sheet includes a top film layer and a polymercement disposed on the top film layer. The applying the preformed composite sheet includes contacting the polymercement with the underside surface of the precured tread. Such precured tread is then used in a tire retread process.
