Varroa destructor (Varroa mite) is an external parasitic mite that attacks and feeds on the honey bees Apis cerana and Apis mellifera. The disease caused by the mites is called varroosis. The Varroa mite can only reproduce in a honey bee colony. It attaches to the body of the bee and weakens the bee by sucking fat bodies . The species is a vector for at least five debilitating bee viruses, including RNA viruses such as the deformed wing virus (DWV). A significant mite infestation leads to the death of a honey bee colony, usually in the late autumn through early spring. The Varroa mite is the parasite with possibly the most pronounced economic impact on the beekeeping industry. Varroa is considered to be one of multiple stress factors contributing to the higher levels of bee losses around the world.

The invention discloses a varroa destructor invasion behavior analyzing device and a method for analyzing invasion preference of varroa destructor to apis cerana and apis mellifera larvae. The varroadestructor invasion behavior analyzing device comprises a culture dish, which is composed of a culture dish bottom and a culture dish cover; on two diameter lines perpendicular to each other on the round bottom surface of the culture dish bottom are provided with four bee queen rearing cups spaced from the center of the round bottom surface at equal intervals, the height of the side wall of the culture dish bottom is higher than that of the bee queen rearing cups, the inside of the culture dish bottom is provided with beewax level to the bee queen rearing cups, and the beewax in the center ofthe culture dish bottom is provided with a slot. The varroa destructor invasion behavior analyzing device is low in manufacturing difficulty and rapid in manufacturing and accordingly can effectivelycontrol the production cost and facilitate generalized application. Besides, the main manufacturing material, namely the pure beewax, is high in plasticity, so that the varroa destructor invasion behavior analyzing device has the potential of being further modified and reutilized.
