The sample processing station comprises a plurality of said sample processing units mounted on a handling platform (5), the plurality of sample processing units being movable from positions that allow attachment or detachment of a tissue slide, a microfluidic cartridge, respectively, to a position where an observation window of the microfluidic cartridge holder (9) is positioned in registration with at least one lens of the microscope.
