Liquid crystal display device

To realize an increase in an image quality of a liquid crystal display device having a capacitive touch screen, and an increase in a reliability of a contact surface and a connection portion.A capacitive touch screen 50 and a liquid crystal display panel 30 are connected, by the same flexible wiring substrate 70, on an interior side when the touch screen 50 and the liquid crystal display panel 30 are laid one on top of the other. By so doing, a terminal is protected from an exterior, and an increase in a number of components is suppressed. Also, by installing the capacitive touch screen 50 on a color filter substrate 20 side of the liquid crystal display panel 30, a reduction of a contrast is prevented. Furthermore, a capacitive touch screen substrate 51 side is made a contact surface for an input. By so doing, a conductive layer 52 of the capacitive touch screen 50 is prevented from tearing due to an abrasion caused by a contact.

Driver device for liquid crystal display, computer program and storage medium, and liquid crystal display

There is provided a motion-adaptive grayscale level converter section between a video signal source and a pixel array. The pixel array includes a liquid crystal cell of normally black and vertically aligned mode. The motion-adaptive grayscale level converter section determines based on information from a decoder section whether the pixels of an image represented by a video signal is in a moving image area. If a pixel is in a moving image area, the motion-adaptive grayscale level converter section changes the grayscale level data representing the grayscale level of the pixel so that there is no darker grayscale level than a predetermined first grayscale level. The resultant data is output as a video signal. Accordingly, we can provide a liquid crystal display capable of easing image quality degradation due to insufficient response when displaying a moving image while maintaining the contrast ratio achieved for a still image display.

Projection Device Having Single Light Valve

A projection device having single light valve has a light source, a projection lens, an imaging unit and a beam breaker. Moreover, the imaging unit has a color production device and a valve. When the beam provided by light source propagates to the color production device, the color production device converts the beam into several different color beams in an order. Thereafter, the beams propagate to the beam breaker, and the beam breaker breaks the beam propagating through within a definite time according to the states of imaging unit. Afterwards, the beams that are not broken are converted into images by the light valve in order, and projected on a screen by projection lens. The beam breaker module can enable the projection device having single light to have several situation modes, and maintain the imaging contrast.

To provide an optical assembly capable of enhancing black level display while preventing deterioration of a WV film, and a projector assembled therewith, optical compensation elements are disposed before and after liquid crystal light valves, so that an unintended phase difference generated on the incident and emission sides of the liquid crystal light valves for individual colors is eliminated by adjusting the rotational positions of the optical compensation elements, thus enabling an enhancement in the contrast of a color image displayed on a transmission screen member. In case of B light including ultraviolet light in part, the optical compensation element is disposed at the subsequent stage of the liquid crystal light valve, so that as compared with when the optical compensation element is disposed at the preceding stage of the liquid crystal light valve, the optical compensation element can be reduced or prevented from deteriorating with age, thus enabling the contrast of image display to be maintained over a long period of time.

Image processing apparatus

A brightness converting unit obtains brightness of each of the pixels. The low-resolution brightness image generating unit divides an image based on the input image signal into a plurality of domains, and obtains an average brightness of each of the domains, on the basis of the brightness obtained by the brightness converting unit. A high-resolution brightness image generating unit obtains brightness of each of the pixels included in the image based on the input image signal by weighting the average brightness obtained for each of the domains by a distance from a central portion of the domain. On the basis of the obtained brightness, the corrected gain lookup table determines a corrected gain, and the correcting unit corrects the input image signal.
