This invention relates to the field of aluminum
alloy investment casting technology, and discloses a method for preparing a mold for aluminum
alloy investment casting with a narrow
internal cavity structure. The method includes designing a pre-reserved core structure for the mold, mold making, filling the mold cavity, mold
assembly, shell fabrication, dewaxing, firing, pouring, cleaning, and inspection. This invention, through the design of the pre-reserved core structure and the design of the
slurry composition, ensures the dimensional accuracy of the narrow
internal cavity structure of the
casting. Furthermore, during the pre-filling process of the mold cavity, α-
gypsum powder,
chromite sand, wood
fiber, and
glass fiber are mixed in proportion with solvents such as
distilled water and silica
sol, ensuring good reproducibility,
thermal conductivity, permeability, fluidity, and strength of the
slurry material. Vacuuming followed by drainage reduces bubble formation and improves the integrity of the mold. This method achieves high-quality and high-efficiency production of aluminum
alloy castings with narrow internal cavities compared to traditional
investment casting processes.
