Operating buttons with disappearing triangular indicia

Directional indicators on the control buttons of an electrical control for a light dimmer or a motor controller are formed by triangular lines with vertices pointing away from one another and in a direction related to the change initiated by pressing the related button. The indicia are formed by narrow lines of length less than about one hundred thousands of an inch, and tend to disappear from view as an observer is farther away from the control buttons. The buttons are formed of right triangles with adjacent spaced hypotenuses and fit into a rectangular area. On / off rectangular buttons of the same color as the control buttons are atop and below the rectangular area.

Bed Lift Mechanism For A Vehicle

In one preferred embodiment the present invention provides a motorized lift system having a winch that winds or unwinds four straps to increase or decrease the height of a bed. To maintain the horizontal position of the bed and prevent swinging, the bed frame includes four rollers that each engage a channel of a vertical rail. In this respect, the lift modifies the bed's elevation while maintaining a desired horizontal position.

Trapping method for digital color printing

A system and method for trapping in electrophotographic color printing and related technologies for printing or display in which the final image is an overlay of multiple components subject to alignment errors. Trapping is based on the cyan (C), magenta (M), and black (K) planes. There are four steps as follows: detect object edges on each of the four color planes; detect coincident and opposing edge transitions on each pair of planes (CM, CK, and KM); determine which plane to trap, i.e., to extend object across edge; and generate trap on that plane using a simple trap generation rule and a single trap generation rule.

Speckle noise reduction for a coherent illumination imaging system

Described are methods and apparatus for reducing speckle noise in images, such as images of objects illuminated by coherent light sources and images of objects illuminated by interferometric fringe patterns. According to one method, an object is illuminated with a structured illumination pattern of coherent radiation projected along a projection axis. An angular orientation of the projection axis is modulated over an angular range during an image acquisition interval. Advantageously, shape features of the structured illumination pattern projected onto the surface of the object remain unchanged during image acquisition and the acquired images exhibit reduced speckle noise. The structured illumination pattern can be a fringe pattern such as an interferometric fringe pattern generated by a 3D metrology system used to determine surface information for the illuminated object.

A vehicle identification system distinguishes vehicles in reduced visibility conditions based on the characteristic projection patterns associated with vehicle headlights and their reflections. Recognizing that the appearance of reflections of headlight beams in a camera image is highly dependent upon the angle of incidence / reflection relative to the camera, whereas the appearance of the headlights in the camera image is relatively consistent, the vehicle identification system distinguishes vehicles from their reflections based on the tracks of the illumination patterns in a series of images. In a first embodiment, headlights are distinguished from reflections based on a length of the tracks. In a second embodiment, recognition zones are selected as regions in the camera image that are not likely to provide reflections from normally aligned headlight beams. Pattern-matching and motion-correlation techniques are also used to identify the track of each vehicle in prior and subsequent image frames.

Systems and methods for reducing the visibility of rain in acquired images are provided. One or more inputs relating the scene desired to be acquired by the user are used to retrieve camera settings that will reduce the visibility of rain in acquired images. Additionally, features relating to the scene may be automatically determined and used alone, or in combination with user inputs, to retrieve camera settings. The acquired images may be part of a video. Another feature of the invention is its use as a rain gauge. The camera settings are adjusted to enhance the visibility of rain, then one ore more images are acquired and analyzed for the amount and size of raindrops. From this analysis the rain rate can be determined.

Touch display panel and touch display device

The invention provides a touch display panel and a touch display device. The transmittance of an optical filtering unit corresponding to any subpixel in a first column of subpixels of the touch display panel is smaller than that of optical filtering units corresponding to subpixels of the same row in the nth column of subpixels in the row direction; in addition, the first column of subpixels are positioned at one side, where the friction direction of touch electrodes in an alignment layer is in the row direction, of the bias direction, namely a clearance is formed between every two adjacent touch electrodes in the row direction; the transmittance of the optical filtering unit corresponding to the subpixel close to one side of the clearance is smaller than that of the optical filtering unit corresponding to the subpixel at the other side in the same row; the optical filtering unit with low transmittance is positioned at one side, where the friction direction of the clearance in the alignment layer is in the row direction, of the bias direction. When the optical filtering unit with low transmittance corresponds to the friction alignment layer, a friction abnormal area is generated at the clearance, so that the visibility of the clearance is reduced when a frame is displayed, and the display effect is improved.
