A folding case is provided for transferring hair-coloring chemicals to a selected bundle of hair. The folding case has a pair of opposing shallow compartments that are adapted for containing a pre-charge of color-base hair-coloring chemicals in one compartment and a pre-charge of activator therefor in the other compartment. Peel-away films are provided to cover and seal each compartment in order to seal in the respective pre-charges therein not only to keep the respective pre-charges separate and apart from each other and avoid pre-mature interaction therebetween but also to keep each pre-charge fresh and preserved during transit through a supply chain from a place of manufacture or production to a remote later-time of and place for end-utilization.

A two step method of coloring hair is described. The hair is first contacted for a period of time with a dye precursor mixture containing an oxidative dye, specific fatty components and one or more water miscible organic solvents. Color is then developed in a second step by contacting the hair with one or more oxidizing agents. A composition, kit and process for dyeing hair fibers in a manner which inhibits color loss during subsequent shampooing involving contacting the hair fibers with a composition containing: (a) at least one polyamine having at least two amino groups; (b) at least one anionic silicone; and (c) at least one dye component chosen from a direct dye and an oxidation dye, and wherein the dyed hair fibers inhibit color loss resulting from subsequent shampooing of the dyed hair fibers.

A method for altering the color of hair comprising applying a bleach composition containing persulfate salts and at least one oxidizing agent to the desired strands of hair for a period of time sufficient to bleach the hair, removing the bleach composition from the hair but leaving at least some residual oxidizing agent on the bleached hair strands, then treating the hair with a colorant composition containing at least one dye operable to color hair in the presence of the residual oxidizing agent found on the bleached hair strands, said colorant composition being free of any oxidizing agents operable to react with the dye present therein to form color, whereby upon contact with the colorant composition, the hair strands treated with the bleach composition having residual oxidizing agent thereon will react with the dye present in the colorant composition to cause the bleached hair strands to become colored, while any remaining unbleached hair will not become colored by contact with the colorant composition and a kit and shampoo composition for use with the method.

The present invention relates to a method for coloring hair wherein a hair coloring composition is applied to the hair roots. The hair coloring composition is then diluted with a dilutant component and the diluted hair coloring composition is applied to the hair lengths and tips.

Disclosed are methods and kits for coloring the hair involving a color base composition comprising at least one primary dye intermediate, and a developer composition comprising an oxidizing agent chosen from persulfates, perborates, percarbonates, and mixtures thereof.
