Apparatuses for dispensing materials volumetrically and gravimetrically based on a stored formula and methods of dispensing formulas using the same

An improved dispensing system and dispensing routine for multiple ingredient formulas is disclosed. The system includes a controller linked to an actuator, a scale and, a means for imparting movement to a plurality of pumps or conveyors and containers for dispensing the plurality of ingredients. After a formula is selected, the controller acts to at least partially load the pump with the first of said ingredients, reads the scale to account for the weight of the receptacle, calculates the motion of the pump required to dispense the target amount of said first ingredient, and either executes a percentage or portion of the motion of the pump required to dispense the target amount of said first ingredient, leaving a remaining amount or a safety factor in the form of a previously determined <maximum overshoot> value. Both techniques avoid an over-dispense which would require the batch to be rejected. The remaining amount may be dispense iteratively using a calibration table or plot and a safety factor or, in an alternative method, the remaining amount may be divided by 2 to generate a “first half” value. The controller may then use a calibration table to calculate a motion of the pump needed to dispense the “first half.” After the first half is dispensed, the actual amount dispensed is measured and compared to the first half value and the difference is doubled and added to the first half value to generate a “second half” value which is dispensed. The cumulative dispensed amount is compared to the target amount and, if within tolerance, the next ingredient is dispensed. The routine is a fast and efficient means for gravimetrically dispensing each ingredient of a multiple ingredient formula and is applicable to liquid and powder ingredients.

Viscous material dispensing system and method with feedback control

A system for accurately dispensing controlled amounts of viscous material. The system includes a pressurized supply of the viscous material, a dispenser connected with the pressurized supply and a feedback control for ensuring that a discrete dispensed amount corresponds closely to the desired dispensed amount for a particular application. The different methods of feedback control include changing pressure of the pressurized supply after measuring a dispensed amount and comparing the dispensed amount with a stored value representing the desired amount. Another manner of feedback control includes changing an air operating pressure associated with the dispenser. A third type of feedback control includes adjusting the duration that the dispenser is maintained on to dispense the viscous material. Each of these types of feedback control are preferably used in succession, as necessary, to ensure that the desired amount of viscous material is discharged from the dispenser. Methods of controlling an amount of viscous material discharged from a dispenser further include using one or more of the feedback controls described above.

Automatic dispenser for hand-sanitizer lotion

An automatic dispensing apparatus for dispensing hand-sanitizer lotion, which is powered using a rechargeable battery pack rechargeable via solar cells, which battery pack is pivotally mounted in the upper interior section of the main frame of the dispenser, above the liquid-storage bag, whereby as the liquid storage bag is depleted after continual use, the weight of the battery pack serves to compress the storage bag to thereby increase the pressure therein, so that the delay of the dispensing of the liquid does not increase over time as the bag becomes depleted. Also provided is a lower, pivotal tray located below the dispensing nozzle of the dispensing apparatus by which drippings and excess dispensed amounts are caught by the tray and do not fall upon the floor therebelow. A front cover is rotatable to an upper position such that it does not rotate back down by itself in order to allow unencumbered access to the interior of the apparatus for changing storage bags and batteries. The apparatus also contains an aerosol spray canister for spraying a sanitizing mist into the ambient surroundings after the apparatus has dispensed sanitizing fluid onto the hands.

Method and apparatus for operating a gaming device to dispense a specified amount

A gaming device, such as a slot machine, determines a balance and a “dispensed amount” that is less than the balance. The dispensed amount may be determined by, for example, receiving signals from one or more key presses that specify the dispensed amount. Alternatively, the dispensed amount may be determined in accordance with one or more “balance management rules”. The gaming device in turn dispenses the dispensed amount, for example, by dispensing an amount of currency, transferring the dispensed amount to an account or adjusting a balance of a remote gaming device. The balance is adjusted by the dispensed amount, and this adjusted balance is available for initiating a subsequent play of the gaming device.

Method for suppressing adhesion of ash and device for suppressing adhesion of ash in boiler

In order to stably operate a boiler using several kinds of solid fuels including depleted ash as fuels, adhesion of ash is suppressed. A calculator (9) preliminarily collects properties of a solid fuel, such as the content rate of ash and the composition of an ash constituent, as data (8). The calculator (9) uses the mix ratio of solid fuels as a parameter and calculates the composition of an ash constituent of the mixed fuels on the basis of the preliminarily measured composition of the ash constituent of each solid fuel. The calculator (9) determines a reference value of the rate of slug by which the ash deposition ratio is reduced on the basis of the relationship between the preliminarily measured ash deposition ratio and the slag ratio. Further, the calculator (9) calculates the mix ratio of each solid fuel using a thermodynamic equilibrium calculation so as to obtain an ash composition in which the slag ratio is not more than the determined reference value. On the basis of the mix ratio of each solid fuel calculated by the calculator (9), the amount of solid fuel dispensed from hoppers (1, 2) is adjusted by a fuel supply amount adjusting device (3). Thus, each solid fuel, the dispensed amount of which has been adjusted, is mixed by a mixer (4) and crushed by a crusher (5) before being supplied to a boiler (7) as a fuel and burned by a burner (6).

Mechanism for doubling soap dispensing amount of automatic soap dispenser

A mechanism for doubling a soap dispensing amount of an automatic soap dispenser includes: a speed reducer disposed inside a soap dispenser, driven by a motor and coupled with a pushing element; a resisting element provided on an inner surface of the soap dispenser that is on a forward moving side of the pushing element; and a soap container connected with a discharge tube located between the pushing element and the resisting element. A pad is coupled to a side of the resisting element facing the pushing element so as to be adjacent to an outer surface of the discharge tube, thereby increasing the time the discharge tube is jointly compressed by the pushing element and the resisting element. Thus, the soap dispensing amount can be doubled without having to modify an existing soap dispensing mechanism of the soap dispenser and a moving cycle of the pushing element.
