Targeted and high density drug loaded polymeric materials

Polymeric delivery devices have been developed which combine high loading/high density of molecules to be delivered with the option of targeting. As used herein, “high density” refers to microparticles having a high density of ligands or coupling agents, which is in the range of 1000-10,000,000, more preferably between 10,000 and 1,000,000 ligands per square micron of microparticle surface area. A general method for incorporating molecules into the surface of biocompatible polymers using materials with an HLB of less than 10, more preferably less than 5, such as fatty acids, has been developed. Because of its ease, generality and flexibility, this method has widespread utility in modifying the surface of polymeric materials for applications in drug delivery and tissue engineering, as well other other fields. Targeted polymeric microparticles have also been developed which encapsulate therapeutic compounds such as drugs, cellular materials or components, and antigens, and have targeting ligands directly bound to the microparticle surface. Preferred applications include use in tissue engineering matrices, wound dressings, bone repair or regeneration materials, and other applications where the microparticles are retained at the site of application or implantation. Another preferred application is in the use of microparticles to deliver anti-proliferative agents to the lining of blood vessels following angioplasty, transplantation or bypass surgery to prevent or decrease restenosis, and in cancer therapy. In still another application, the microparticles are used to treat or prevent macular degeneration when administered to the eye, where agents such as complement inhibitors are administered.

Liquid-solid circulating fluidized bed waste water treatment system for simultaneous carbon, nitrogen and phosphorus removal

Biological nutrient removal (BNR) in municipal wastewater treatment to remove carbonaceous substrates, nutrients and phosphorus, has recently become increasingly popular worldwide due to increasingly stringent regulations. Biological fluidized bed (BFB) technology, which could be potentially used for BNR processes, can provide some advantages such as high efficiency and compact structure. This present invention incorporates the fixed-film biological fluidized bed technology with the biological nutrient removal in a liquid-solid circulating fluidized bed, which has achieved the simultaneous elimination of organic carbon, nitrogen and phosphorus, in a very efficient manner and with very compact space requirements. The BNR-LSCFB has two fluidized beds, running as anoxic/anaerobic and aerobic processes to accomplish simultaneous nitrification and denitrification and to remove carbonaceous substrates, nutrients and phosphorus, with continuous liquid and solids recirculation through the anoxic/anaerobic bed and the aerobic bed. The new BNR-LSCFB system is not only an excellent alternative for conventional activated sludge type BNR technologies but is also capable of processing much higher loadings and suitable for industrial applications.

Channel access control method for wireless sensor network

The invention discloses a method for controlling channel access of a wireless sensor network. A base station node and each sensor node adopt a time frame structure with different lengths of time frame, so that the sensor nodes can reserve different time slots by dispatching to carry out data packet transmission, thereby not only reducing collision probability of forwarding data packets among sensor nodes in a high-density monitoring area and improving the utilization rate of wireless channel, but also effectively avoiding overhearing in the wireless sensor network and frequent status switching of a transceiver; therefore, the sensor nodes can be in dormancy status as fully as possible during idle transmission so as to greatly reduce energy consumption under the high-loading network condition and have good energy efficiency. A path reserve mechanism can reserve a multi-hop time slot in advance along data packet forwarding direction in time slot reservation phase, according to the time frame synchronizing characteristics of the sensor nodes on a forwarding path, thereby effectively avoiding end-to-end transmission delay of single data packet caused by intermittent transmission of data packets on the forwarding path.

Preparation method of spinel-type magnetic MFe2O4/graphene composite material

The invention discloses a preparation method of a spinel-type magnetic MFe2O4/graphene composite material. The preparation method utilizes a water-soluble metal M<2+> salt and a Fe<3+> salt as precursors and graphite oxide as a matrix and comprises the following steps of carrying out ultrasonic dispersion of graphite oxide in ethanol or water as a solvent to obtain a graphene oxide dispersion, adding a M<2+> salt and Fe<3+> salt-containing aqueous solution having a M<2+>/Fe<3+> mole ratio of 1: 2 into the graphene oxide dispersion, fully stirring to obtain a mixed solution, adjusting a pH value of the mixed solution to a value more than 10 by an alkali liquor, adding a reducing agent into the mixed solution, stirring at a temperature of 80 to 150 DEG C for a reaction lasting for 4 to 10 hours, after the reaction is finished, carrying out separation, washing, drying and grinding, and carrying out calcination of the grinded powder at a temperature of 300 DEG C in a nitrogen or argon atmosphere for 2 to 10 hours. Magnetic MFe2O4 nano particles of the spinel-type magnetic MFe2O4/graphene composite material have high loading capacity, stable structures, good uniformity, good dispersibility and strong adhesion with graphene. The spinel-type magnetic MFe2O4/graphene composite material can be widely used in the fields of magnetic targeting materials and other related function materials.

The invention provides a transition metal single-atom catalyst. In the catalyst, transition metal single atoms are taken as active ingredients, carbon black is taken as a carrier, the loading capacityof the transition metal single atoms is 0.5-6wt%, and the highest loading capacity of the transition metal single atoms is higher than that of the prior art by 2-3 times. Various low-price transitionmetal single-atom catalysts with high dispersibility and high loading capacity are formed by inducing a limit range and by taking phenanthroline with strong complexation effect as a ligand and takingthe carbon black with high conductivity and high surface activity as the carrier. A preparation method of the transition metal single-atom catalyst has universality and can be used for preparing various low-price transition metal single-atom catalysts; according to the method, a Cr single-atom catalyst, an Nb single-atom catalyst, an Rh single-atom catalyst, a Cd single-atom catalyst, an Os single-atom catalyst and an Ir single-atom catalyst are prepared for the first time. Additionally, the preparation method has the advantages of being low in cost and simple in process and achieving large-scale production. Next, the catalyst has higher selectivity and Faraday efficiency in application of preparation of carbon monoxide by reducing carbon dioxide through electro-catalysis.
