This area of research bears some relation to the long history of psychological literature on transfer of learning, although formal ties between the two fields are limited.

System and method for selective transfer of radio frequency power

A system and method is provided for the inductive transfer of electric power between a substantially flat primary surface and a multitude of secondary devices in such a way that the power transfer is localized to the vicinities of individual device coils. The contact free power transfer does not require precise physical alignment between the primary surface and the secondary device and can allow the secondary device or devices to be placed anywhere and in arbitrary orientation with respect to the primary surface. Such power transfer is realized without the need of complex high frequency power switching network to turn the individual primary coils on or off and is completely scalable to almost arbitrary size. The local anti-resonance architecture of the primary device will block primary current from flowing when no secondary device or devices are in proximity to the local RF power network. The presence of a tuned secondary device detunes the local anti-resonance on the primary surface; thereby enable the RF power to be transferred from the local primary coils to the secondary device. The uniformity of the inductive coupling between the active primary surface and the secondary devices is improved with a novel multi-pole driving technique which produces an apparent traveling wave pattern across the primary surface.

The programmable key may also transfer power via electrical contacts or inductive transfer from an internal battery to the security device to operate a lock mechanism. A timer inactivates the programmable key and / or the security device after a predetermine period of time. In other embodiments, the electronic key is programmed with a security code and the key initially programs the merchandise security device with the security code and subsequently determines whether the security code of the key matches the security code of the device to permit the key to transfer power to the device.

A principled, probabilistic approach to meta-learning acts as a go-between for a ‘black-box’ image annotation system and its users. Inspired by inductive transfer, the approach harnesses available information, including the black-box model's performance, the image representations, and a semantic lexicon ontology. Being computationally ‘lightweight.’ the meta-learner efficiently re-trains over time, to improve and / or adapt to changes. The black-box annotation model is not required to be re-trained, allowing computationally intensive algorithms to be used. Both batch and online annotation settings are accommodated. A “tagging over time” approach produces progressively better annotation, significantly outperforming the black-box as well as the static form of the meta-learner, on real-world data.

Far infrared pedestrian detection method for changed scenes

The invention discloses a far infrared pedestrian detection method for changed scenes. A sample extension target data set is screened out of auxiliary data on the basis of the Boosting-style inductive transfer learning algorithm DTL Boost. At first, a sample importance measurement model based on the k-nearest neighbor is utilized for evaluating the similarity between the auxiliary data and the target data, and corresponding initial weights are distributed for different samples in the auxiliary data. In the training process, the prediction inconsistency degree of member classifiers is explicitly defined, iterative updating is carried out on the current weights of the auxiliary data and the target data sample through the prediction error rate of the current member classifiers, a sample extension training set with the positive transfer ability is screened out of the auxiliary data, and the different member classifiers are encouraged to learn different parts or aspects of the target data. In this way, an integrated classifier with the stronger generalization ability is obtained through training, and the robustness of pedestrian detection in the new scene is enhanced.

The invention relates to an inductive radar high-resolution range profile recognition method based on deep transfer learning, which relates to radar signal processing. The method includes preprocessing of a real target signal and aided simulation data; selection and optimization of a deep model; application of an inductive transfer strategy in deep transfer learning. Aiming at the difficulty of acquiring complete high-resolution range profile data, a target recognition framework based on deep transfer learning is proposed, which can effectively improve the recognition performance of radar high-resolution range profile with small sample size and incomplete attitude. Based on the transfer learning in deep learning and machine learning, the method is practical and portable, and can meet the needs of weak supervised learning in most small samples and incomplete situations.
