System and method for qualifying requests in a network

An information service provider network includes a content gateway to process requests for information from a client terminal. The content gateway includes a router for receiving a domain name server query from an originator associated with a request for information. The router including a database defining a relationship between domain names and addresses associated with accelerated servicing of requests. The router determines whether the domain name of the domain name server query is indexed in the database. The domain name is qualified in response to the domain name being in the database. If qualified, the router sends an address to the originator of the query corresponding in the database to the domain name. The address is to a processor associated with the router that performs accelerated services on the request.

System and method for providing video conferencing synchronization

An audio mixer on a first device receives one or more incoming audio streams. Each of the one or more incoming audio streams has an associated timestamp. The audio mixer generates a mixed audio stream from the one or more incoming audio streams. The audio mixer determines differences in the time base of each of the one or more incoming audio streams and the time base for the mixed audio stream. The audio mixer generates mapping parameters associated with the determined differences and transforms the timestamp of each of the one or more incoming audio streams to a corresponding output timestamp associated with the mixed audio stream according to the mapping parameters. the mapping parameters are provided to a video mixer for similar processing and transformation such that the mixed audio stream is in synchronization with a mixed video stream.

Method and system for detecting object presence and its duration in a given area

A system (10) for determining a presence, identity, and duration of presence in a given area of an object includes one or more mobile transmitters (12) that periodically send out a beacon signal. A node (14) includes a receiver (16) that receives a beacon signal whenever a mobile transmitter (12) is within a threshold range of the node (14). Method and system for prefetching data

In prefetching cache lines from a main memory to a cache memory, an array of memory locations to be prefetched is determined and a base address indicating a highest address in the array is identified as well as a loop index used to point to the first address in the array. A prefetch index, which is the loop index plus a latency / transfer value, is used to prefetch memory locations as the array is processed. After a memory location is prefetched and initialized, the loop index and the prefetch index are incremented. The prefetch index is compared to a threshold value. If the prefetch index is less than the threshold value, then the next memory location in the array is prefetched and the prefetch index is again incremented and compared to the threshold value. If the prefetch index is equal to or greater than the threshold value, then the prefetch instruction is converted to a no operation instruction to prevent memory locations outside of the array from being prefetched during the processing of the array.
