A large diameter, flexible, kink-resistant and rotatable introducer sheath ( 10 ) for percutaneous delivery of a contained and implantable medical device in the vasculature of a patient. The introducer sheath includes a reinforcement such as a flat wire coil ( 23 ) fitted about an inner, lubricous material such as polytetrafluoroethylene tube ( 22 ). A wire braid ( 25 ) is placed around the coil to give good transfer of rotational forces. An outer tube ( 27 ) of a heat formable polyamide material is heat formed and compressed through the spaces between the wires of the braid and turns of the wire coil to mechanically connect the outer tube to the roughened outer surface of the inner tube. The durometer of the outer tube can be varied to effect the flexibility of the sheath. A radiopaque marker ( 42 ) is positioned at the distal end of the coil and around the inner tube for radiographic visualization.

Further, a condition of exposure, such as angles θ of radiography, is changed based on the degree of overlap. The angles θ of radiography are angles at which a radiation irradiation unit performs radiography at a plurality of positions to obtain a plurality of radiographic images. The tomographic image obtainment apparatus produces a tomographic image by reconstructing the tomographic image from a plurality of radiographic images obtained by irradiating the subject with radiation from various directions.

Drilling of an implant shaft is carried out with a handpiece tool whose location and angular orientation with respect to a radiographic working guide is updated in real time with respect to the radiographic working guide and anatomical structures of the patient, free of viewing obstructions. A radiological image detection apparatus includes a first grating unit, a grating pattern unit, a radiological image detector, and an anti-scatter grating. The grating pattern unit has a period that substantially coincides with a pattern period of a radiological image formed by radiation having passed through the first grating unit. The radiological image detector detects the radiological image masked by the grating pattern unit. The anti-scatter grating is arranged on a path of the radiation incident onto the radiological image detector and removes scattered radiation. A smoothing process is performed for at least one of a surface and a backside of the anti-scatter grating intersecting with a traveling direction of the radiation.

A device for use in optical scanning and CT scanning including a radiographic template and at least one shape of known dimension (SKD). The radiographic template includes a plurality of radio-opaque markers and is configured to take an impression of at least one surface of a patient. The SKD is removably attached to the radiographic template and serves as a basis for registration of data of a CT scan of the device with data of an optical scan of the device. The device may further comprise a mounting plate. The SKD is mounted on the mounting plate such that the at least one SKD is in an exact same position with respect to surfaces in a model formed from the impression as when the impression of the patient is formed in the radiographic template.

The present invention provides a radiographic imaging device including: plural pixels disposed in a matrix, each pixel including a sensor section that generates charges based on irradiation of radiation, or on illumination of light that has been converted from radiation; plural scan lines through which a control signal flows for switching switch elements included in pixels that are employed as radiographic imaging pixels out of the plural pixels; plural signal lines through which electrical signal flow corresponding to the charge that has been accumulated in the radiographic imaging pixels according to the switching state of the switch elements; and one or more radiation detection line through which an electrical signal flows corresponding to the charge that has been generated in the sensor sections of the radiation detection pixels out of the plural pixels.

A radiation-transmissive type target structure includes a target layer formed on a substrate. The target layer has a thickness equal to or less than 20 μm, and is configured to generate radiation in response to irradiation of electrons. A surface of the target layer is formed with projecting portions and depressed portions, the depressed portions have a depth of at least half the thickness of the target layer. Advantageously, separation of the target layer at an interface between the substrate and the target layer is substantially prevented. A radiation generating apparatus and a radiography system equipped with the target structure are also disclosed.

A method for providing a reduced exposure value for radiographic imaging obtains a set of flat-field images at two or more exposure values and measures the noise power spectra using the flat field images. At least one noise table is generated according to interpolated noise power spectra for a set of predetermined exposure values. Values from the at least one noise table are applied to a clinical image to form a reduced exposure simulation image. A noise mask is generated according to at least one noise table and the exposure values of the reduced exposure simulation image and added to the reduced exposure simulation image. The reduced exposure simulation image is assessed to generate a desired dose reduction factor.

An image processing apparatus includes: an image obtaining device which obtains a breast image obtained by radiography of a breast; a mammary gland region extracting device which extracts a mammary gland region from the breast image; a local region setting device which sets a plurality of local regions around pixels belonging to the extracted mammary gland region; a local contrast value calculating device which calculates a plurality of local contrast values in a local regions, for each of the set plurality of local regions; and an image processing device which applies image processing to the breast image on the basis of the calculated plurality of local contrast values. Thus, considering a contrast between a mammary gland and a fat region, a stable image processing result can be obtained while enhancing viewability of a local mammary gland structure and a lesion.

In a radiographic apparatus, a radiation image detector or first and second gratings are structured in such a manner to be attachable to the radiographic apparatus and detachable therefrom. The radiographic apparatus includes a cassette attachment/detachment detection unit that detects attachment and detachment of the radiation image detector, or a grid attachment/detachment detection unit that detects attachment and detachment of the first and second gratings. In a radiographic method using a mobile radiographic apparatus including an image generating unit which includes photoelectric conversion elements and generates radiographic image data of an object, key information for selecting radiographic request information is transmitted to an external information system having the radiographic request information. The radiographic request information transmitted from the information system is received. The operation of the image generating unit is controlled based on the received radiographic request information.

A bone graft that is made at least partially of synthetic material or demineralized bone matrix and is manufactured in suitable shape and/or dimensions to augment an alveolar ridge. The bone graft may be such as to augment both a portion of the crest of the alveolar ridge and a portion of at least one side of the alveolar ridge. The graft may include at least one hole for the intended position of an implant base, and/or at least one hole for attachment hardware. The graft may be manufactured to standard dimensions or it may be manufactured to patient-unique dimensions which may be determined radiographically prior to surgery and prior to manufacturing of the bone graft. The bone graft may be able to be carved for dimensional adjustment during surgery. The bone graft may have composition and/or local geometry which varies from one place to another, and may have a particular composition and/or local geometry at places intended to adjoin natural bone.

A collection device and method of use for excised tissue immobilization, removal of core samples from immobilized tissue and transport of the tissue for specimen radiography and pathological analysis. The collection device is comprised of a base member having an annular bottom wall and a side wall upwardly extending from the peripheral edge of the side wall, a lid member having a top wall and a skirt circumscribing the side wall and extending downwardly therefrom, and an incremental latching mechanism for securing the lid member to the base member. The side wall of the lid member includes a plurality of apertures positioned around at least a portion of the circumference of the side wall. In use, a tissue specimen placed in the base member is immobilized by compressing the tissue between the top wall of the lid member and the bottom wall of the base member and securing the lid member and base member together with the latching mechanism. A core sample can be removed from the immobilized specimen by inserting a portion of a sampling device through an aperture. The remainder of the specimen can be transported as needed for pathological or radiographic analysis.

The present invention provides a radiographic imaging device, radiographic imaging system, a program for controlling the radiographic imaging device, and a method for controlling the radiographic imaging device that may accurately detect start of irradiation of radiation even noises are generated by interference or the like. When radiation is irradiated, electric signals outputted from radiation detection pixels in charge accumulation period are detected by signal detection circuit during detection period. Control section determines whether time variation of the electric signals feature pre-specified characteristics of noise. If not, the start of the irradiation of radiation has been properly detected, the charge accumulation period continues, and radiographic image is imaged. However, if the electric signals feature the pre-specified characteristics, it is determined that the start of the irradiation of radiation has been misdetected, the charge accumulation period is stopped, and is switched to radiation detection period.
