This application provides an information prompting method, apparatus, electronic device, and storage medium. It provides a
graphical user interface (GUI) via a terminal device, displaying at least a portion of a virtual scene on the GUI. In response to an
attack command, it controls a first virtual object to perform a first
attack behavior in the virtual scene. The first
attack behavior is configured to produce a first hit effect upon hitting a target, and to trigger a
second hit effect for each consecutive number of hits. In response to the first attack behavior hitting a target, it provides a first identifier control on the GUI, including a sub-identifier representing the number of hits. Based on the consecutive hit count corresponding to the first attack behavior, it adjusts the display of at least one sub-identifier in the first identifier control to indicate that the first attack behavior has triggered or is about to trigger a
second hit effect. This application allows for a more intuitive display of combo counts and
special effects, while reducing the consumption of game resources.
