3501 results about "Via fence" patented technology

A via fence, also called a picket fence, is a structure used in planar electronic circuit technologies to improve isolation between components which would otherwise be coupled by electromagnetic fields. It consists of a row of via holes which, if spaced close enough together, form a barrier to electromagnetic wave propagation of slab modes in the substrate. Additionally if radiation in the air above the board is also to be suppressed, then a strip pad with via fence allows a shielding can to be electrically attached to the top side, but electrically behave as if it continued through the PCB.

Tracking System and Portable Virtual Fence

A tracking system includes a global positioning system (GPS) module and a modem for mobile communications both attached to a pet (or other trackee), and a virtual fence (which includes a base station sending a signal to a certain range and a receiver attached to the pet (or other trackee) and receiving the signal sent by a base station when the receiver is within the range of the base station). A portable virtual fence system includes a signal-sending base station, and a signal-receiver worn by a to-be-fenced pet or other trackee. Advantageously, the base station is portable. The size of the virtual fence can be expanded to fit any shaped geometry using signal repeater or transceiver devices. In addition, more than one pet can be tracked using a single virtual fence and base station. Upon confirmation that a trackee has breached the fence and should be tracked, a service center can provide location information of the trackee as well directions to the trackee by voice or transmission of mapping and other imaging displays to the responsible party seeking to locate the trackee. Power management is enhanced by either turning off the power to the tracking devices (e.g., GPS or GSM or other device) after a report, or by dynamically varying the time reports are made without deactivating the tracking devices.

Pocket hole drilling machine

A pocket-hole drilling apparatus for drilling pocket-holes in a workpiece is disclosed. In one embodiment, an initiation switch actuates clamping the workpiece and the movement of a drilling module to cut a pocket-hole. The drilling module has a motor and a step-drill mounted thereon, which is slidably mounted on a guide module. The axis of the drilling module movement intersects work surface. In another embodiment, a movable fence provides the adjustability of pocket-hole depth. In yet another embodiment, two actuator tips are disposed in a fence to prevent the drilling of a pocket-hole through the sidewall of a workpiece. In still another embodiment, a short stroke clamping actuator is used to prevent human finger injury. In still another embodiment, a blower or an ejector pump is used to remove wood chips, wherein the blower is either attached to a drilling motor or to a separate blower motor; the ejector pump is mounted near the drill guide. In still another embodiment, two pocket-drills are slidably mounted on a block so as to drill two pocket-holes and to adjust pocket-hole spacing. In still another embodiment, a mounting structure is disposed either underneath or above the work surface to mount drilling module(s) so as to drill multiple pocket-holes into a wide workpiece at one setup. In still another embodiment, a drill guide forms a clearance for the cutting edges of the step-drill to minimize wear on the edges. In a further embodiment, an actuator provides both clamping and drilling movements, wherein the actuator is an electric motor or a hand lever.

Apparatus, system and/or method for wirelessly securing and/or for wirelessly monitoring an article

An apparatus, a system and a method wirelessly secure and wirelessly monitor an article. The apparatus, the system and the method operate as an alarm system that may prevent a theft and/or a removal of the article from a defined perimeter and/or defined perimeters. The apparatus, the system and the method may have one or more alarm boxes that monitor one or more heads. One or more of the heads may be attached to and/or may be electronically connected to one or more articles, such as, for example, portable electronic equipment. The articles be provided on display in and/or may be used, manipulated and/or transported by consumers in a store environment. The alarm box may be installed in close proximity to a display stand of the article. The alarm box may charge components of the head and/or the article while the head and/or the article are located on the display stand of the article. The head may power the article while the article is not connected to a power supply of the display stand and/or a power supply of the alarm box. The alarm box and/or the store environment may have one or more fence drivers. The fence driver may create one or more zones. The head has a fence detector that may detect whether or not the head and/or the article is located in a position within the zone. The fence drivers and/or one or more of the zones may be configured to control locations at which the head and/or the article may be used without triggering an alarm event.

The invention belongs to the technological field of agricultural plant protecting information processing, and discloses an electric fence monitoring method for unmanned aerial vehicle plant protecting operations. An agricultural plant protecting operation plot has boundaries and to ensure the security and efficiency of a plant protection unmanned aerial vehicle in executing the operations of plant protecting, the plant protection unmanned aerial vehicle should not trespass the boundaries. Therefore, it is necessary to monitor the electric fence for the unmanned aerial vehicle plant protecting operations. The method in doing so comprises the following steps: 1) generating in a dynamic manner a security boundary; 2) establishing a dual link communication system based on an unmanned aerial vehicle radio station and a 4G module; and 3) determining the boundary trespassing and the tendency of trespassing of the unmanned aerial vehicle so as to raise the detection efficiency of the boundary trespassing of the unmanned aerial vehicle. According to the invention, it is possible to make pre-warnings when there is tendency for the unmanned aerial vehicle to trespass the boundary so that the user of the unmanned aerial vehicle is able to change the flight direction instantly and that high efficiency unmanned aerial vehicle boundary trespassing can be detected. Therefore, the computational complexity is reduced greatly and the algorithmic efficiency is increased.
